Ah, I see that you pointed out that lower level military commanders can now take action without needing higher level approval for 72 hours. I have looked at some blogs where people have stated that it was against the Constitution to use the military against civilians because of the Posse Comititus Act. If they read the Act, that is not true. I recall that in the 1970’s my unit trained in riot control tactics during the race and anti war riots. At the time I was in the regular Army not the National Guard. I don’t recall any discussion at the time about the Act. The penalty for violating the Act is ludicrous though. A fine and not more than 2 years in prison. Anyhow, thanks for your discussion and back to our regularly scheduled bullying of Skunky.

Even though I bash the Gooberment (and rightly so many times) I still fully believe in my heart that this is the best form of government ever devised, and pray I can still say that on the day of my death.

I don't think of the DOD stuff so much as political as it is current events. It could have political implications.

Dan seems to have been MIA for a few years now. I always thought it was odd how this forum went from being extremely active to pretty much a ghost town. I check back in every once in awhile, but nothing really changes. 😢
