The frame I bought didn't turn out as well as I hoped. It feels great and the ergonomics are fantastic. But the internals they used have issues. I took it out on Thursday and it was a jam-o-matic and when it wasn't jamming it was light primer strikes. I tried to tweak the internals and fixed the jamming but the light primer strikes were not as often but still there. Yesterday I put in OEM internals into the aftermarket frame. I put 200 rounds through it this morning and it's running like a champ right now. A major improvement over the stock frame. I'm faster and more accurate than with the original frame. Now to put about 300 more trouble-free rounds through it and then I'll be comfortable carrying it. I have definitely gotten my range time in this week. 4 trips and at least 750 rounds of ammo. My trigger finger is going to need a break I'm thankful people are to prissy to shoot in the cold. I had my range to myself. It was sunny, no wind but 31 F when I started shooting. If it ain't raining, cold, or snowing you ain't training.

Good afternoon Yard. Rain moved in early last night so today will be spent indoors again. Great time to run patches through "toys" and straighten out the basement some more.
Anyone go for that "Forefather Bowie" ?

I have not heard of Fire Maple. The Vietnamese coffee maker looks well made. I tried Vietnamese coffee about 5 years ago but the coffee maker was hard to clean. I can’t put coffee grounds in my septic system. Nowadays I usually make coffee with an Aeropress or a pour over setup.

Hey PK. I have seen a video where a Marine says he carried an AR-15 in combat. He is the second Marine that I have seen to say that. As far as I am aware no AR-15s have ever been issued for deployment in combat. Do you know of any?

DO NOT EVER buy anything from Levine hats in St Louis. I bought two flat caps to replace my baseball caps from them on the 4th of November, and I live in Missouri about 150 miles Southwest of there. I have been notified THREE times that my hats were due on such and such a day. They were not even shipped until the 7th!
Then the UNRELIABLE United States Postal Service (HA, SOME SERVICE). First they said I’d get them on the 8th, and Now they are claiming I’ll get them on the 12th. I AM NOT a happy camper.
Tom, when you and Donnie have your first working lunch (tell Melania I said hello) , then tell him he needs to fix the postal system.

Ray,
It's possible early in the Vietnam war. The Armalite AR15 is what we now know as the M16. They had select fire AR15's from Armalite before they sold the rights to Colt and it became the M16. But it's not the same rifle that we call an AR-15.

Well stated M/B. There was actually quite a variety of weapons used in VietNam over the years.

Randy, I will mention your problem to Don while he, Melania, the General, and I are having lunch and toasting the birthday of the USMC.
