Lackland (basic training) Texas
Clark Air Base - Philippines
Reese - Texas
Mountain Home - Idaho
Shemya - Aleutian Islands
Offutt - Nebraska
Yokota Air Base - Japan
Pope - North Carolina

Plus I spent TDY time in the following places.
Osan Air Base - South Korea ( 4 months over 4 years I was in Japan)
Homestead - Florida (for 5 weeks after Hurricane Andrew in 1992) RAY, we had to eat MRE’s for lunch!
Quonset Point Air National Guard base - Rhode Island (3 days inspection tour of their Airfield Operations, I did give them a pass).
I think that pretty much covers my 20 years 1 month and 16 days (but who really counts ) Military career.

Then the next 25 years were spent as a reserve road cop in a small town and a County Sheriffs office dispatcher. Trust me, I got in all the drug busts, fights, car chases, stand offs, pepper spraying and breaking up riots at the jail I wanted. More in fact. . Then since April of 2019, retirement.

And to think that you actually got PAID for having all that fun !

Impressive stats, Skunk. Hard to conceive that Air Force personnel were forced to eat MREs. You’ve been retired that long? It seems like it was just a short time ago that you were thinking about retirement.

Thank you Tom. It really wasn’t all that bad. BUT I never had to serve in Combat. My hat will ALWAYS be off to to those of you who did.

Again, thank you Tom, MB, yeah even Ray . And even though he’s not from around here, Bill (Coyotebc) has ALWAYS supported us, and I for one DO consider him a brother.

I can’t believe that Skunk was passed over for Secretary of Defense. Well, Secretary of the Air Force is still open.

I just can't picture Skunk sitting on the lap of the boss, like a good secretary.
