It's a questionable tactic. If the shill outbids everyone, then even in the product doesn't change hands, fees still need to be paid. So if the tactic doesn't work and the high "selling" price doesn't result in driving the market up, the seller is out of pocket for nothing. In addition, I believe it's against eBay's policies. If they find out about it, the seller's account can be terminated. I am pretty sure that if you are shill bidding for yourself both of "you" could just agree not to have a sale and then all but the listing fees are reinstated. (I did some research with a fellow knife ebayer after I am sure a shill bid was used on me.)

FYI I also sold a 14 inch remington 870 police parkerized barrel with rifle sights for around $500.00 on Ebay so you just never know what people are willing to pay. Unless I am missing something, they paid so much because you sold a class 3 weapon. 14" is illegal for a citizen to own without Fed paperwork and fees.

Leatherface ,yes they are Eric's sheaths. I tried to give good value to those people who did not want the hassle of importing a knife to canada and having a sheath made. Because I did a bulk order for sheaths I could give a pretty good deal on the knife and still make a few bucks.
