As much as I would love an INFI bowie I would really want an S7 bowie I can actually afford. I think the INFI scrapper 4's was a one time deal in order to
help the yard get some momentum. I really like that they made a 4 inch knife out of the INFI they did have in order to have as many people as possible get a taste.
Very democratic and it totally worked one me. I had always loved Busse and Swamprat knives but had been put off by the price.

Res C is cool and even better on big blades than the smaller ones. Micarta is nice on a heirloom knife that will be cherished for years like an FBMLE(not to say people don't use them). On a fighter where retaining your weapon is a priority
or a chopper where some cushioning is nice RES C has the advantage.

Res-C is far and away my favorite handle material for a fixed blade knife of any size. It is comfortable, easy to hold on to even when it is wet, and cushons the blows when chopping. Oh, and you can also repair cuts in the handle material with only a flame.

What's not to love?

I don't think that the bowie will be made of INFI. It would be nice, but I just don't see it.

Peace
Jerry

I would love to have a chopper made of INFI but it is very difficult to find that much scrap. The SR77 has amazed me in the torture test and it should please any DOG. It's all about performance for the lowest possible price and I think I have hit this one out of the ball park. Stay tuned!

By the way that was some fancy photo shop on the bowie

Dan

If they release for sub $150 I may get one just to test the steel.

I'll honestly be happy with S7 on a big chopper. That's where this steel excels!

Yes, I was quite happy with the performace on the car hood. I've had slight rolling and edge flattening with SR101 on WOOD before. The S7 did better than that, and I was hitting STEEL!

I think S7 is a better value than INFI. Everyone seems to think INFI is better but is it twice as good? I would take a 10% drop in performance for a 50% drop in price. Or better yet a 1% drop inperformance and a 50% drop incorrosion resistance. Rust is not a big issue for a coated blade. A steel i have heard of that specs out alot like INFI is hitachi blue steel. It would make an interesting knife.

I am just happy to have such great knives, at equally great prices. I love my S7 Street Scrapper 6. I trust Dan to make us the best knives out there, bar none!!

Hehe TKC you suck-up! (No offence meant!) You are right Dan makes good knives at great prices. My S6 is my trail buddy now, replacing a knife that cost twice the price!

Someone made the comment about the INFI V. sr77 performance comparison factoring in price as a major issue; I agree sr77 wins hands down... But INFI does stay shiny for longer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
