It's where a very short length (5 mm or so) of the top 'edge' is ground sharp to help 'penetration' on stabs..

Looks useful for detailed work. My LE has sort of a swedge so the tip is finer than on my CG. I don't care about its stabbing capabilities but i prefer the tip of the LE because it's better for small stuff yet still strong enough to not be bothered with the large stuff. If i had to pink one to penetrate kevlar, skin and flesh i'd pick the LE. If i had to pick one to stab through a brick wall i'd pick the CG.
