Best knife sharpening investment I ever made. You can use a very fine grit and safely sharpen your pocket knives even. You can grind a dull axe or machete in just minutes. It just takes a little technique, so practice on cheap knives first, but I am convinced that most folks can do it if they practice.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Either sandpaper and mousemat (very expensive in the long run!) or cut your losses and get a Lansky kit or Sharpmaker..

I can't speak for their toughness, but the two Busse Combat knives I got were both generally blunter than a hogs butt on arrival.. Given the price of Busse knives and the 'legendary fit and finish', I thought they'd sharpen them!

i take alot of knives to a local custom knife maker who sharpens them for me. my df and yard guard had pretty decent edges so i didn't have to sharpen those but my rd9 was ridiculous. there was no edge or bevel. must have been a defect but i decided to grind an edge rather than send it back. so while i was at his shop i mentioned the better quality of my busse knives, then he tells me his knives will out preform a busse and that busse blades are actualy no good. it is the busse employees that spread all the internet propaganda. if he lies this much i can't trust him which means i probably can't trust his work or knives. boy i am glad i have not purchased a knife from him.

Go back and buy one of his knives. Then cut it in half in front of him.

Wow thats the exact opposite reaction I had when my new factory FFBM arrived. For being so thick it was scary sharp I even sliced my arm on accident with it becaue I under estimated its sharpness.

All of my SYKCOs were factory sharp as well. My factory Strider SnG and Ranger RD7 were as dull as bowling ball, but sharpened up quite nicely.

Still we all need a belt sander!

I haven't done anything with my FBM, but my DF is crazy sharp. As a matter of fact I was sharpening it the other night after too many beers and nearly cut the tip of my finger off.

Where is a designated knife sharpener when you need one?
