I like the LED flashlights, they run forever on a set of batteries.
When you care enough to use only the best...stick'em with a SKYCO knife.

Well I went to Wally World and they didn't have it... I may have found another source at about that price though... If that doesn’t work out and you still want to get one I could pick one up and ship it to you if you need me to, just lemme know. On a related note, I recently found a GREAT deal at Goodwill. I found a 3xAA 3 watt LED Maglite, still in the (opened) package, (missing 2 batts) for $4!!! Those are nearly $30 new. Sweet! Now I have a 2xAA and a 3xAA. The new 3xAA I keep by the computer and use it when I go out at night to put a package in the mailbox. The 2xAA stays on my belt.

Sorry guys but the days of the Maglight are over. If the Cree Fenix is to much money I would highly recommend the regular L1P model. They are only a couple of bucks more than a 2AAminimag but are way way better. LED ,real glass lens with some coating, excellent aluminum body with very good coating and terrific battery life. I have the L2P(2AA) and a spare L1P body so I can make mine a 1 AA and I keep another L1P in my Bike seat. The L1P and L2P have been replaced so you can get them real cheap if you look and the new ones are not any better. They just have a bunch of modes you don't need and most find annoying.
The Fenix also are very well designed with a flat bottom so you can set it up like a candle, without taking it apart. I also got a really cool Fenix folder. It is very well made with good steel a great coating and nice G10 grips. My mom has claimed it from me though. Still one of the best folder I have even ones that cost 3 times as much.

The question is not if the maglight is better than the fenix, it is a question of paying 30 extra bucks and shipping, when 66-75% of the work can be done for $15.
p.s. There are more than one fenixs on my Christmast list

my favorite small flashlight is from Pak Light ( www.9voltlight.com). I have several of these in white, green, and red. the battery last forever and I was very suprised at how much light it will put out. the green light is my favorite.

I bought an Inova X5 Led Titanium Floodlight w/ blue light and it has been a great little light. No problems.

The single cell AAA Fenix beats the mini maglite hands down.
Yes, it does cost more, but it also does more !
