I will take pics of the Rat this weekend and post them.
On the bright side of things, I will be keeping my custom as well. My original plans was to have it resemble and Indian Dag fur trade knife (both side sharpened). I the put a twist on it and had him do a 3/16ths spine to baton on. When it came the spine was not 3/16ths thick but actually thinner. It was however made out of 3/16ths stock. He told me that he tried to keep it as thick as he could.
I decided that since the knife itself is perfect overall that I would just sen it back to him and have him sharpen the spine, as was my original plan. He is very nice and talented and the knife truly is beautiful with that fresh from the forge look to it. It has this sheen on it that makes it look as if it is coated in clear laquer. All of the fire marks and hammer marks are there as requested. Overall the knife is perfect!!! He really out-did (if thats even a word) himself.
Now I need advice on how to photograph it (Ted/Andy) as there is light flashes at every angle and when flash is turned off it is subdued. I want to catch the sheen for you guys.
Thanks!!

Now I need advice on how to photograph it (Ted/Andy) as there is light flashes at every angle and when flash is turned off it is subdued. I want to catch the sheen for you guys. You need a light box, and some full spectrum lights. The good thing about the lights over a flash, is that you can see if/where it will reflect, and move the lights accordingly. Another option is to try some outdoor pics on a partly cloudy day to diffuse the light. Check some links in this thread for more info and tips: How To: DIY $10 Macro Photo StudioAny more questions, just lemme know and I’ll do my best to answer them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
