Just for information, if you post on the 'want to buy' section of Blade Forums you will find sellers who will send overseas! I got my Busse basic 7 that way..

Dan's knives are amazing value for money and he and Patti don't have a problem with us 'furriners' so get ready for his next offering! In the meantime I'd recommend trying to get a used SS4, 4" of INFI.. Just superb! (The S6 is a total classic too.)

I sometime look at the 'Busse/Rat/SYK for sale' section and now that I figured out what CONUS means <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />, I believe some sellers will ship overseas.
I'm interested in Rats and SYK. I've seen some Yard Hook, Yard Guard and Dogfathers.
I just don't know yet which one I like/need the most, it's hard to choose a Knife from pictures...

Welcome to the yard Sal. I know what you mean about trying to judge from pictures. From doing a bit of reading once you find one you like, post about handle size, balance etc and you should get some good feedback. Good luck with your choice.

Bonjour Sal, Ca va? Nous voudrais aidez vous. My written French is quite poor as well. Shipping to Europe is a pain, but I do it often. Let us know if we can help.

Sorry to reply so late but I had to make up my mind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I am looking for a good knife I can rely on while backpacking, not too expensive, not too heavy, not too big but not too small <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

After looking through affordable camp knives such as Ontario RAT, Ranger Knives, and non affordable ones <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> like Spyderco Hossoms, Swamp Rats, I think that Scrap Yard Knives is the way to go <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

As I watch my rucksack weight, I'd like to carry only one blade and a small multi-tool, so it would be my all-around knife outside of town.
To sharpen it I'll bring a small triangle ceramic file or use the diamond file of the multi-tool.
I won't have anything against rust (that's why I was interested in Spydie Hossoms).
I'd like to take it while traveling so low profile is a good option, I might get a pink sheath <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> or use pokemon stickers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.

I don't know if the Yard Guard is designed for camp/utility use but I like the way it looks, so I try to see pics of it in action and being carried.

I think the Yard Guard is a great camp knife, but the Scrapper 6 is lighter and it will chop pretty well, if not as well as the Guard.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I like recurve blades <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> and Yard Guards seem to be more available on bladeforum.
now I am waiting to see one for sale <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />
