Wig, welcome to the yard! Bruce, yep I may invest in a shaker as long as I know that getting a sheath won't be a major drama! That's my one gripe with my Badger, I can't find anyone who makes a sheath I like that will mail it to Britain! It is the one thing 'Busse Combat' has got totally wrong- they must offer a credible factory sheath just like Dan does! I know I can order one specially from their 'selected' sheath makers on the links- who mostly don't actually buy Jerry's knives so you have to send yours over to them (never going to happen!) so my Badger is in Ontario pants.. If Rainwalker is going to get an Assault Shaker then I figure a sheath should be pretty easy to order! (Failing that I'll probably get the Thru Hiker instead sometime, the Thru Hiker price with a sheath supplied stuffs the Shaker and at that size does it really need to be INFI?). Hmm, decisions decisions! OK, I've had it up to my neck with the anti Busse sentiments. You havent contacted me for a BADGER sheath yet,I know that because I have one sitting right next to me here. Jerry did try to offer a sheath back in the day but got nothing but grief for the "great knife, crappy sheath" bull. NO, WE DO NOT GET FREE BUSSE'S!!!!! Whoever told you this is blowing smoke up your --------- The reason he says in most cases is that we do our best to get a hold of one of the knives, not because we get a friggin freebie. I go broke every time a knife comes out so I can make sure my customers dont have to risk they're knives to the post office. again and again and again, I'm saying that its all in the same family!!!!!!!!!!! good god what does it take to hammer that in the nay sayers heads!!!! Please take this for what it is, a very frustrated Busse collector that is very weary of reading so much bashing. I'm very weary. In fact yea, its probably time for me to take a break from this forum and stick with more friendly territory. I'm very dissappointed, I have had to defend, and fight with people in several different forums, but I never expected as much from a family forum. Ah well, Cest la Vie. See y'all around

Dwayne....man, relax. I don't think he meant that Sheath makers get a free knife, but rather they usually just don't have the knives in stock so you have to send yours in. I can see where that is a problem for someone in Paul's position across the pond to get a quality sheath.
I have seen some Busse bashing and it bothers me, because I love all 3 companies. But for some folks it isn't. Scrap Yard is it. Either for cosmetic, practical, or price wise some folks won't step outside the Scrap World. Also on the other side, I have seen a few Busse Hogs slam Scrap Yard. Paul never attacked the quality or price, but more the availability of an accessory. Maybe he wants kydex and that is why he didn't contact you?
But leaving isn't the answer. You have more knowledge and compassion for the Busse Combat Group and contribute to the extent that you are VERY helpful. I would hate to see you leave over a few peoples comment whether negative or uniformed.
EMail if you have a spare 460!!!!

. . . at that size does it really need to be INFI? . . . In a word, NO!!! But only INFI kool-aid will slake an INFI thirst. Man I hear ya on that!!! What is it about that stuff??? Jerry's designed it so that it hypnatizes you once you've been exposed to it... Just so my previous comment is not confussed as bashing, it's not. I just want to figure out a way to explain my own addition to it now, I love the stuff too much......... Also usless I'm confussed, my previous understanding was that Paul "was" looking for kydex. Correct me If I wrong Paul.

Leatherdog, I did not intend to make you feel uncomfortable and have to defend Busse. I don't want you to feel you have to leave the forum!
I have a Basic 7.. It's gorgeous I love it's lines, I'd bet my life on it. It cost me a packet and it was money well spent with it's industry standard setting warranty. It came with a great kydex sheath.. The B7 knife cost $250 (perfect mint) $40 shipping and $80 to get through customs!!
My Badger cost $233, $35 shipping and around $75 customs fees.. I love it! My problem is that unlike Dan, Jerry doesn't do factory sheathes. My Badger is in Ontario pants (yuk..) I have emailed several non forum sheath makers or suppliers who have either not replied or wanted to charge me $80 shipping for a $35 Spec-ops sheath. (Yes really! $80 shipping on $35 product!). You are right I didn't contact you as I (probably) can't afford what you do, being totally honest!
Living over here two lots of extremely expensive shipping is a cause for pain.. Why can't Busse tie in with the sheath makers so I can pay one lot of shipping for the knife to arrive in it's sheath and you guys have the knives available? I didn't mean to suggest you got free knives- I think Busse SHOULD give you free forming blades to be honest! I meant as Gravelface said that as you don't get knives free, most of the linked vendors can't make sheathes unless I send my knife. That is just too expensive..
INFI is awesome. The Busse warranty is awesome. (I wish they made cars too!) From an overseas perspective the Busse sheath issue is just that, an issue! I hope you can accept this in the spirit it was written- I'll buy you a beer sometime!

I will add though that the Badger got me over my micarta aversion, that was no mean feat!! Me buying micarta, whatever next?

Its a combination of things.
My stress because of the ongoing cancers that my father is fighting.
My frustration with the Busse knife family being so freaking disfunctional.
And worst of all is a horrible feeling of dread I've been dealing with for a couple of weeks now. Makes me a wee bit irritable.
Consequently, I need a friendly climate till this urge to rip someones face off subsides. I'm normally a very protective fellow, but I'm getting ridiculous. I have an incredible passion for Jerry's blades, and when they are dissrespected I get more than a little defensive on a good day.
I'll be around, but from now on till I get to feeling better, when I see a bad post I'll just shut the computer and go chop some wood with my Battle Mistress, crap handles and all.
