Its a combination of things.

My stress because of the ongoing cancers that my father is fighting.

My frustration with the Busse knife family being so freaking disfunctional. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

And worst of all is a horrible feeling of dread I've been dealing with for a couple of weeks now. Makes me a wee bit irritable.

Consequently, I need a friendly climate till this urge to rip someones face off subsides. I'm normally a very protective fellow, but I'm getting ridiculous. I have an incredible passion for Jerry's blades, and when they are dissrespected I get more than a little defensive on a good day.

I'll be around, but from now on till I get to feeling better, when I see a bad post I'll just shut the computer and go chop some wood with my Battle Mistress, crap handles and all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I really loved the sheath that Leatherdog made for the M6. I thought it was excellent especially at the price it was sold at. I usually think the Busse kin knives suit a kydex sheath better though just because of the tactical style of the knife.

I hope things get better soon LD!

Back to neck knives here is a Photo of the S30V Kala from the Buck site.

This Buck Hartsook is on my list for sure. A heck of a deal and very reminiscent of the lapel knives from WW2. There is a story in the new tactical knives about Col Applegate killing a bandito with a knife like this.

Here is the very rare OSS instructors kit.

Now some modern versions by Fred Perrin.

Here we have an incredibly rare preproduction FS dagger and lapel dagger. They were both made from one Lee Metford bayonet.

This is my personal version of a lapel dagger although I find it to heavy to wear as a neck knife it is very slim and easy to conceal and wear. The CRKT Sting with the On Scene sheath is the knife I have when I can't carry a real knife.

I am sorry to hear that your dad is fighting cancer. As hard as the situation can be, remember that your support and plain just being there makes a huge difference.

If there is anything that Patti and I can do please do not hesitate to ask.

The Brotherhood of the Yard is with you in thought and prayers

Further to my previous rant, I've emailed several (non-yard!) sheath makers to try to get a Badger sheath..
I AM NEVER BUYING ANOTHER BL**DY JERRY BUSSE KNIFE TILL HE STARTS SELLING SHEATHES WITH THEM LIKE DAN DOES..
Rant over! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I know your frustration. In moments of exasperation, I have said the same thing about Scrap Yard Knives ("I won't buy it unless it comes with a sheath"). So the new Yard Keeper comes out and I have two of them! No sheath! But the Busse Knife Group knives are so darn good, I buy them anyway and start the sheath search. I put my Badger Attack in a Spec-Ops sheath. My new SH1 will fit a Scrapper 6 sheath. And I ran into Rainwalker at Blade, who made me sheaths for my Ratmandu, Yard Keepers, and FFBM. I would like to see every Busse-made knife offered with at least a Cordura sheath. Until then, thank God for the Yard! Were you not able to get a Spec-Ops sheath for your Badger?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

LD, I too am sorry to hear about your father. Mine struggled with bad heath issues for several years, I know what a strain it can put on you.

Let us know if there's anything we can do.

I don't know about the other Busse kin Forums or disfunctions, this forum is my home I have no reason to stray from it, I like to think of the guys here as an extended family, and although family members will disagree from time to time, I've found this family to be pretty close knit and usually of like mind, so if someone rants I usually take it in very much the same way I do when my own family members rant. It's almost like confiding in your friends and that's what friends are for. You too are part of that family.

Dwayne, I'm very sad to hear about your Dad being ill. You will have my and the Yard's support and prayers. If you need to take a break we'd all understand. Come back when you're ready and we'll be here!

As to the Busse family dysfunctional, can't say that I'd agree. The Busse family is a much bigger and diverse group than it was even two years ago. In that richness and diversity there will be differing opinions and points of view. While we may not always appreciate the verbage used that sometimes seems to offend, I know each of the members has the utmost respect for their Dog brothers and Busse brothers in general. Texans are raised to be extraordinarily polite people so I can understand your sensitivity to some of the posts. I try to look past the words to the idea that the person is trying to convey because I know there are lots of good ideas here!

Thinking positive thoughts for you Dwayne! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Leatherdog, you must know by now that all the dogs wish you well. I know what stess and worry can do. My late wife struggled with lymphoma for seven years while I did my best to care for two small children and maintain a high pressure job. There were many times when I felt that the whole damned world was against me. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your father.

Dwayne, just to echo the comments the others have made.. Very sorry to hear about your dad, I hope it all turns out well and my thoughts go with you!

Vic I could only find one store who would sell me a spec ops sheath and they wanted $80 shipping on a $35 sheath! However our very own Rainwalker has stepped up to the mark with the offer of a kydex reinforced leather sheath I can actually afford.. Now that is a VERY happy ending to a very frustrating story!

Long live the yard!

That is great news, Paul. Like I said, God bless the yard. You will be more than pleased with Rainwalker's work.
