My dear sister just called. She had most of one lung removed from lung cancer about a year and a half ago. Her latest scan came back clear. We will be celebrating her birthday this Sunday. She has never smoked and avoids places with tobacco smoke. She was diagnosed with it right after our mother died. She has been worried since last Friday when she had the semi-annual scan done. She did not want to face chemo again. I am so happy for her! She is a great sister.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

That's great to hear Vic. I'm sure that will make for a much better birthday celebration. That's a load off your mind too, I'm sure. Happy, Happy Birthday to her!!!!

Good news, Horn Dog! Cancer scares the hell out of me, as I just lost a friend to a tumor in his stomach.

She was here for the fireworks on the 4th and was dreading the scan. Karen is a remarkable person. She has a PhD from Ga State and works for IBM. The very essence of a "Republican". She was a Goldwater Girl and all that. She worked for the Newt in Atlanta. She is beautiful and funny and a blast to be around. She took da yoots while I went to Blade. She took care of our ailing Mother in her last days. I could not ask for a better sister. I am so relieved.

Excellent new Vic - Tell Karen "Happy Birthday" from the Yard! (I can tell that she must be a fine lady by the way you said "the very essence of a 'republican'"!!)

Its funny. I have never met most of you, but I feel like we are friends here. Friends share joys and sorrows. I will pass along your birthday wishes to Karen. BTW: She has a bowie knife collection and her husband collects machine guns. She would appreciate the fine folks on this forum.
