I have always wanted to go. I have been to the NY knife show a bunch of times, and used to go annually to the meadowlands knife show here in Jersey, when they used to have one.
went to a small knife show in California, about 10 years back. That was a cool one. For whatever reason, they had tons of samurai swords there.
Shows are great.
Now that we have puppies, the chances of going to Blade are getting dimmer and dimmer.

I went to Blade for the first time last year!! It was AWESOME!! If you haven't been, you gotta go!! It was the most amazing experience!! Talking with makers face to face, meeting fellow forumites, all the knives......Oh man!!! You gotta go!! I AM planning to go. I hope to God that I CAN go!!

Miss the Blade Show?? Hell no!! I got my first Scrapyard Knife from Gar...I mean Progunner and a tasty little lady who was assisting him and I plan to get more! Plus, I think Jerry owes me a drink and before it's over I bet I can get Dan to owe me a drink!!

I am glad that you mentioned talking to makers face to face. To me, that was one of the most impressive things about Blade, the big name makers actually took the time to talk to me like I was somebody.

I talked to Sal from Spyderco, Blacky Collins, Chris Reeve, Jerry Busse and a lot of others. Without exception they were courteous, polite and treated me like I was important to them. What a classy group of folks! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'll be back if at all possible.

I won't list all the folks I talked to, for fear of forgetting someone. But, it was awesome to talk to the makers face to face. And like you said Rich, they were polite and treated me like I was important to them too. It was an incredible experience. It is an experience I will never forget either!!
I hope and pray that I CAN go this year!! I AM planning on it!!

Will Scrap Yard be making VIP Passes available to SY customers? Last year I went as a guest of another Busse family business. This year I would be proud to go as a dog!

OOOH. That is GREAT thinking Rich!! Yes, that would be most excellent if Scrap Yard had VIP passes for Blade!!!
