I was looking for a Extream use/fighting knife that would not break and I had a check list of features and was searching for a knife that would come close to it.

Features I was looking for were:

Non slip handle
Birds head style/type pommel
~5/16" blade
Full Flat ground
Blade length ~9-12"
Extreme Shock resistant steel very important.
A smooth transistion from the edge (Busse calls it the Plunge line) to the ricasso.
Cost? well I was pretty sure I was going to have to have it custome made so I was saving up.

Then I saw a post on another knife forum about a destructive test on a knife call the Dog Father. Well It was exactly what I was looking for in every aspect and the price OMG I could not believe it.
Further investigation led me here and there you have it.

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

Well I am a Swamp Rat girl, and my mate is a Busse man.
I haven't posted at the Swamp in at least a year. I lost track of it. Too busy out playing with my HR and CT, I suppose.
The old wolf told me about Scrap Yard and showed me a picture of a knife I fell in lust with... too late tho. They arent for sale anymore.
But it led me here. Maybe next time I won't miss out.

My apologies for not posting an intro. I will go back and do it if someone will tell me where to go.

What knife are you looking for? You can just make a thread in this forum as an intro. Welcome to the Yard.

The Scrapper 6, of course.
Poor me.

Thank you again for the welcomes. I cannot imagine what i could tell you about me in an intro that you can't see from my posts and profile anyway. Just don't want to step on toes.

can't happen (toe thing) but if you ever do try to step on jeeps's toes, please use the highest heels you have, you know the pointy kind, he likes that! j/k

but you didn't miss it, the S6 is a production run model, it will come out again! you may not be able to get an LE version but the regular coated one will come out here again

you may have missed the first few runs of them, and the introductory price but you'll be able to get one here, just hang around and it'll be yours!

It had been a while (years) since I had bought a knife so I went surfing.. I found the yard thru the 'Rat forum.. (I went looking for Swamp Rat Knives after accidentally finding Cliff Stamp's review site and thinking a CT would be right up my street!) Ok I missed the CT and BR but my Basic 7, S6 and DF will do nicely!

I had gotten a few Emersons, and was looking for a place for more information on them (I had had years of good luck gaining knowledge on car forums). That lead me to Bladeforums and Knifeforums last summer. I desperatly wanted a Battle Rat, but they had been discontinued the previous winter. As luck would have it, Scrapyard, and the concept behind it was announced. The rest is history.

Horn Dog - Jim Bowie (Scott Forbes) threw his knife into a door at the opening scene, then they played the music. That IS a nice looking knife you have there! By the way, you can buy DVD's of the old Jim Bowie show on eBay and some video mail-order sites. Just don't expect the same quality from a series 50 years old and in black & white! Tom
