Welcome Lupa

I started out as a guy who liked cheap but good knives like the Buck119 ,Kbar
,mora's and a few CS carbon V knives. I had even said on some forums
"infi is just Carbon V with better marketing"

Well the SS4 came out and I thought 140$ is expensive but I can always sell it if I don't like it. Well I still have that SS4 and carry it every day.
I was wrong about infi as well.

I scraped my Mothers uterus on the way out.
I was born with a Case pocket knife in my hand. The Doctors were astounded and baffled as to how it could have happened.Mom was just sore and pissed.
I had so many pocket knives taken away from me in my youth I could put half the population of England in jail with the amount of blades Mom took away from me.
I'd steal a few bucks from the cookie jar,Dads coin bottle, or return Coke bottles for the deposit money and go right back to Ace Hardware and buy another pocket knife.
I don't know why I kept leaving them in my pants pocket. I knew the woman did my laundry three times a day. She found every thing I ever hid from her.
I remember my epiphany.

I finally asked her one day when I was I believe 8 years old. Mom, I said.. You keep taking these knives away from me. Why?
She told me that's a silly question, you'll cut yourself or worse hurt someone of your friends.
I explained we all had knives and used them every day exploring our neighborhood and just for fruit and general use. I noted that I had never been cut or asked for a band aid.
She relented and let me pick one. She had saved EVERY knife she took from me, intending to give them back when I was more responsible.
I love my mom.
I picked a Mother of Pearl Case Trapper I had always liked. Most expensive too.
I found the Yard in early December of 2006 while looking for a new Christmas blade for myself. Needless to say there were none for sale. So I lurked for a really long time.Laughing and learning form all the posters.
Finally I gave in and broke my silence, and since then you have all had to put up with rambling posts like this one.

Thanks for putting up with me.

By the way Lupa, welcome to The Yard. Home for the steel hearted.

Peace.
Dave

can't happen (toe thing) but if you ever do try to step on jeeps's toes, please use the highest heels you have, you know the pointy kind, he likes that! j/k

but you didn't miss it, the S6 is a production run model, it will come out again! you may not be able to get an LE version but the regular coated one will come out here again

you may have missed the first few runs of them, and the introductory price but you'll be able to get one here, just hang around and it'll be yours!

Awesome! I like the coated one. It will match the HR and the CT. Then I will have to get LeatherDog to make me a sheath for that one too. Between the wait for the knife and the sheath, I should have it, what, about Christmas next year? Oh well, worth the wait. Meanwhile, I have my eye on the yard dawg....

And I have those high heels somewhere...

Thanks again for the warm welcomes.

Well I am a Swamp Rat girl, and my mate is a Busse man.
I haven't posted at the Swamp in at least a year. I lost track of it. Too busy out playing with my HR and CT, I suppose.
The old wolf told me about Scrap Yard and showed me a picture of a knife I fell in lust with... too late tho. They arent for sale anymore.
But it led me here. Maybe next time I won't miss out.

My apologies for not posting an intro. I will go back and do it if someone will tell me where to go.

Welcome to the Yard

I was always interested in knives, but I never collected them. For decades, all I had was a Buck 110. (I still have that knife, by the way.) Then for reasons I don't really remember, I started bumming around on some of the knife forums. Eventually I made my way to Bladeforums and from there to Cliff Stamp's web site. Of course, if you know anything about Cliff Stamp, you know he likes Busse family knives.

I found Swamp Rat via Cliff and started checking out the Battle Rat, Camp Tramp and Howling Rat. Then the Jeep story showed up on Bladeforums and that did it. I KNEW I had to have a Camp Tramp! Of course I couldn't get just one Swamp Rat knife. My next purchase was a Howling Rat. That led to catching the INFI bug. So I took a deep breath and bought a straight-handled Satin Jack CG from Skunk. Other interests led me away from knife collecting after that, so that was the extent of my collection for awhile.

When I decided to get back into it, I went to the usual sites and the buzz was circulating about Scrap Yard. One look at what Dan was offering and I was hooked. It was like visiting Swamp Rat during the good old days all over again.

I don't know how long my interest in knife collecting will last this time around. Nothing's ever permanent with me . . . except my marriage (going on 32 years now).

What a claim to fame..."going on 32 years". That is something to be proud of!!!Good for you.

Patti and I will be married 24 year in November...and thats 24 years without gun fire directed at me.
