Got my new Buck Strider Solution today. I decided that I have way too many 4" to 5" survival knives. Here are some of them: The new Buck: ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet013.jpg) Cuts good. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet015.jpg) Here my lovely assistant holds the Dumpster mutt, Yard Keeper, and Buck for thickness comparison. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet011.jpg) Tough Scrap Yard Survival knives: ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet010.jpg) Air Force Survival, Blackwater Gear Combat, and SOG Seal Pup. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet009.jpg) I like the little SOGs, they are light and easy to carry. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet008.jpg) This Al Mar SERE Operator and Buck Strider are two different approaches to a survival knife: ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet007.jpg) These rugged Busse and Swamp Rats would have to be considered survival knives. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet006.jpg) The Gerber LMF II is nice ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet005.jpg) Some consider the Cold Steel Master Hunter to be among the best. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet004.jpg) These folders would do in a pinch: [img] http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet001.jpg[/img] Got this discontinued Gerber Gator cheap. It has 154CM steel. [img] http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Buffet003.jpg[/img]

Thanks Vance. I have more but this was all I felt like carrying out back. I have as many or more 6" to 8" combat/survival knives scattered around the house.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

it looks nice Yes, it has a built in sharpener. It is a great sheath. It came with a seatbelt cutter and all kinds of funky straps, too. The LMF 2 may be ugly, but it works. I have batoned with it, thrown it, and generally been rough on it, and it comes back for more.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

She drank all my IPA last visit, but she does like Bud, too. Always good to keep on hand.
