Got my new Buck Strider Solution today. I decided that I have way too many 4" to 5" survival knives. Here are some of them:
The new Buck:

Cuts good.

Here my lovely assistant holds the Dumpster mutt, Yard Keeper, and Buck for thickness comparison.

Tough Scrap Yard Survival knives:

Air Force Survival, Blackwater Gear Combat, and SOG Seal Pup.

I like the little SOGs, they are light and easy to carry.

This Al Mar SERE Operator and Buck Strider are two different approaches to a survival knife:

These rugged Busse and Swamp Rats would have to be considered survival knives.

The Gerber LMF II is nice

Some consider the Cold Steel Master Hunter to be among the best.

These folders would do in a pinch:

Got this discontinued Gerber Gator cheap. It has 154CM steel.

Thanks Vance. I have more but this was all I felt like carrying out back. I have as many or more 6" to 8" combat/survival knives scattered around the house.

Yes, it has a built in sharpener. It is a great sheath. It came with a seatbelt cutter and all kinds of funky straps, too. The LMF 2 may be ugly, but it works. I have batoned with it, thrown it, and generally been rough on it, and it comes back for more.

She drank all my IPA last visit, but she does like Bud, too. Always good to keep on hand.
