I've actually done a few wood carved sheaths in the past, not much call for them these days though...

I've worked with rattan too, even made a couple of knife handles with it, but never thought about making a sheath out of it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> I"ll have to give that concept some more thought I like it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
