wouldn't it be easier to tape togehter 130 cheap flashlights?

And cheaper too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

although difficult to fit in your pocket for EDC.

How about 3200 lumens for $150.00 insted, although not nearly as cool looking as the Surefire

Despite its name, SureFire Beast II Spotlight is only 15.5 inches long and weighs just 4.5 pounds — quite manageable with one hand. But Surefire Beast-Light B1R can crank out a 2,000-lumen beam of tightly-focused white light, which is roughly equivalent to 130 two D-cell flashlights.

wouldn't it be easier to tape togehter 130 cheap flashlights?

Maybe it is late, but this is the first thing that popped into my head when you said that. I present the early prototype... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> :

Hi guys, actually if you pop over to the candlepower forums where they discuss flashlights with the same zeal and passion that we discuss blades, you can find more than a few "hotwire" lights that can put that Surefire to shame at less than 1/10 of the cost..

I've got a 1500 lumens one for less than $200, in a 2D maglite host running on rechargeable AAs...:D

so there...:D
