I know what you mean. I somehow set up camp one time next to an area where 2 mountain lions started mating at about midnight. They were the most horrible scarry shrills I have ever heard. It was erie since the closest people were about 17 miles away since I was winter camping.

I remember one time my brother and I were out hunting, about mid-day we had lunch and took an nap.
When we woke up not 10 feet from us was fresh bear scat (wasn't there when we had lunch)
Hunted all my life and I have never heard of anyone else have that happen to them.
Any of those large predators can ruin our day if they want, but man it is so much more interesting that they are out there
