I often wish there were some dogs in my neck of the woods to gather with. Just got my mondo credit card bill in. It has the bravo-1, 2 SOGs, 2 CS, Ritter, and others on it. Big blade month! Think I'll hold off for a while on purchases until the DFLE comes out. Got some medical bills to pay anyway. That's the down side of retirement, less income. Nothing I didn't plan on, but still big bill. Still have some serious medical issues to resolve. Those blood tests aren't cheap. Had an ear ache for a week. That can make a guy irritable. Once I get this behind me, I'm looking forward to some cooler weather. The heat down here is downright unhealthy.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I may get some knife-making equipment and start making little bitty knives. Why so many people buy them is a mystery to me, but they are cheaper to make than big ones. My idea of a useful small knife would be SAK Recruit. But a supplement to my retirement might be good.

My next planned blade acquisition will be the next SYK release or the ASH1 whichever comes first. Of course if something unexpected comes up------?

it's nice. one of the best features of the new neighborhood. It's nice to know your neighbors and to be able to borrow some sugar at the last minute. in our last place we didn't know the neighbors on a first name basis for over 3 years.

Since I picked up a DF yesterday, the knife at the top of my list would be a skelly. Top candidate is one I just found today thanks to the good people here:

it is a nice little knife, I like mine.

I have all the fixed blades covered. I have never owned a Spyderco. The Endura in VG-10 is in the same price range as my favorite EDC, the CS Voyager in VG-1. But the Carson M-4 in AUS-8 is very nice looking. I might just give the Spyderco a try. People who own them seem to like them.
vic,

I know you have a nice collection, (i am very jealous) but I own 10 spydies and 10 crkt knives about and my spydies are far sharper and hold an edge much longer.

Congrats, VANCE. BRKT is a close third on my best-bang-for-the-buck list. Mike's knives cannot be beat for variety of blade shapes and handle materials. Plus, as Leatherface likes to say, Mike is a genius. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I've already got one of his knives although not under the BRKT name. Otherwise I'd be looking real hard right now at a Bravo-1 or a Gamekeeper or a Forager or a Sandstorm or . . .

I think the forager is the best hunting knife availabe anywhere. it may be easier to find the gameskeeper. they are basicly the same knife but the hidden tang. it is close in shape and size to a cs hunter but made from A2 still cryo treated and triple tempered!
