Here is a pic of some of my favorite Vic's. My all time favorites are the Mauser, the Farmers and any anadized alox. The Mauser was a gift from my grandfather back in the 80's. Vic's are very practical tools that may not use the best steel, but they function and are dependable. I always have at least one in my pocket.

Those are nice, Jeeps. I buy SAKs anytime I see a sale on one. They make great gifts for men or ladies. Got to be the most useful knives ever devised.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I had a SAK when I was a boy, I should get another one someday. Nice collection you've got Ron.

I get a kick out of just how useful a $25 knife can be. I use my Vic's at work when I am around people. The Spyderco's are just too scary for office workers.

I pulled out my little 3" Executive SAK a couple of weeks ago at a retail store to help an employee cut a tag off of something I was buying - the ladies eyes got fairly wide - irritated me.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

I really want a nice Alox Soldier.
I have a really well used Wenger that was a gift to Olympic athletes that my sister found in Banff. The spring is not great but it is a very very useful
tool. I have a soft spot for Wengers although more people prefer the Victorinox.
They are the same company now but for years shared the right to the Swiss army name. I have a bayonet that is made by Wenger for the Sig 550 and Victorinox made then as well. I don't have any good photos of it just this group pic where it is between the Buck 119 and the FS Dagger.

I always liked Wenger more. Their scissors were better.

I bought my sister two of those Sig 550 "Swiss Army" bayonets for display. Those make nice stainless steel daggers. Actually I bought them for me, but she seemed so impressed with them, I gave them to her. She has them in a frame on her office wall. Good thing she works out of her home. I doubt that IBM would approve.

Unsub,

If your Wenger has a weak backspring, you could send it back to Vic and get a new one put in under their warranty. May not be worth the postage but worth a try if it's no good anymore.
