Ok, this will be a record for me for most pics posted that I’ve taken in a single thread. I took these pics in July, but it’s taken me a while to get them all posted with 44k dialup. I know I’ve told a few of you about the tank museum before in the past, and you guys thought it was really cool, so I wanted to take a bunch of pics for you guys. I hadn’t been back there since I’ve had my digital camera.

For those who are new, this tank museum is about 15 miles from my house. Once a year in the summer they have a military show, and people come and sell parts for military vehicles, and some other military gear from long ago. This show occurred a day or two after I got my #4 Scrap Yard challenge coin, so I was sure to pose with it in several pictures.

To keep people from trying to break in after hours, they have a large female African lion that’s a pet named Tara. At night they let her roam the building loose to prevent break-ins. And you thought coming face to face with a large dog was bad!

Hey Dan, if you’re ever drivin’ through to Ohio and want to see it in person, lemme know and I’ll tell you how to find it.

Here’s some Jeeps and a 6x6s.

This is a 1908 Anderson (town where the museum is) It’s a two cylinder 14 horsepower engine with a 4 ¼ bore and a 4 inch stroke that displaces 113.5 cubic inches. The wheels are wood, and it had a top speed of 30 mph. It originally cost $575 and was made by the Anderson Carriage Company. There are only a few of these known left to exist.

This is a 1922 1 ¼ ton Speedwagon. It has a 30 hp 4 cyl engine with a top speed of 35 mph. 13,599 were built for $1435 each. This is believed to be the last 1922 1 ¼ REO Speedwagon left.

An airplane. About 10 years ago I walked into that propeller and whacked my head on the edge of a blade. That really hurt. I later told the story to a group of people, and one of them said, “Wow, was it running?” *Sigh* I thought. Didn’t they see what happened to the guy in Indiana Jones?

I took this picture because at the time we were discussing bayonets at Scrap Yard, and I believe it was Knife Party ? Who said he never knew bayonets were used on shotguns in war, so I took this picture of a manual for a M1897 model 12 gauge Winchester shotgun from WW II to show him.

Great post Andy, thanks for taking the time and effort to write down the neat facts and cool stuff that we needed to know about those pieces.

Great pics!!! Thanks for posting them. I would love to get my hands on one of those spent casings, it would be great for a man room decoration.

Wow, that's a lot of pictures, Andy. Thanks for posting them. BTW: the "tank" with the really big gun is a self-propelled gun and the "tank" that opens in the back is an armored personnel carrier. But most folks just call all armored tracked vehicles "tanks". Lot of tanks there, for sure.

Great pics! What knives are you carrying in the pics? One on your side and one around your neck.

It looks like one could spend a month there and not see it all. Thanks for the great pictures.
