Here are my thoughts. I agree Lynn Thompson is a blowhard and I don't like his marketing practices. However, I don't think much of Jerry Busse's marketing and sales practices either.
However, neither of these characters is dating my daughter or coming for Sunday dinner and it's their capital at risk. Therefore they can run their companies any way they wish and I have a choice to make. I can either buy their producets or not. In the case of Cold Steel, I have a couple of Voyagers that I like very much and I have a couple of fixed blades I have found to be fine knives.
I don't own any knives from Busse Combat. If they make product available at a reasonable price, I'll consider purchase. If they don't, well, I won't hold my breath. What exactly is wrong with Jerry's Marketing and Sales practices? Mentioning him in the same breath as LT is a low blow, especially when it is not backed up with any reasoning, however misguided.

I don't see anything wrong with Jerry's marketing practices... his knives come at a premium, but they really are the best you'll ever get. I've only got 2 - but my BATAC is my "go to" knife out of the 20 or so high end knives that I've acquired.
A lot of people have a "big problem" with Scrapyard sales as well - but it all comes down to supply and demand. It'd take a whole lot of work for Dan to keep up w/ a supply to meet the demand.
I'd sure prefer that both Scrapyard and Busse would keep full inventory of all of their models... but it just isn't feasible! So there really isn't a great way to decide who does and doesn't get your knives that want them. One way it to sell them to the highest bidders... or the fastest buyers...
