I just tried to PM you to try to put this dispute to rest, but you are ignoring me. I wanted to keep this private but can't, so here goes.

I didn't join these forums to make an enemy of you or anyone else. I expressed a view in what I thought was a respectful way. I did not call anyone names and I have kept quiet in the face of your criticism and name calling, in the hope you would eventually settle down, let it go and simply respect my right to express myself. In a post previous to mine, you lit into Lynn Thompson and called him a "snake oil salesman." You clearly have your strong opinions and you're entitled to them. I responded to your post by trying to point out we all have different likes and can show our support, or lack thereof, for a maker, with our wallets. That was all there was to it Rat.

So here we are, people with different views. Now what? Here's my suggestion Rat: Let it go man. It just isn't worth all this anger. We're just a bunch of knife enthusiasts with different backgrounds, ideas and opinions. I bear you no ill will for the views you hold, the names you've called me or the things you've said to me and about me. If the last word is important to you, now's your chance. You have mine.

LT IS a snake oil salesman, everyone can see that. He sells his products with half truths and whole lies. . . otherwise, why would anyone buy a scrapyard knife if Cold Steel really had the "Worlds toughest, sharpest knives"? I could give more examples.

As you can see, although I had you on ignore, I still have been reading your posts in the hope that you would respond at some point. I don't want a response in a PM. You made a public statement about Jerry Busse, and I responded publicly. The bottom line is, you seem to think that Jerry is a disreputable character. You still have yet to tell me how he fits into a disreputable mold. Maybe you are on the wrong forum if you have such a dislike for Jerry, since this is his family here. Talking smack and then ignoring the response is a common troll tactic. I called you on it, end of story.

The internet is pretty anonymous, but if these statements/conversations happened in public, I would respond to them. There undoubtedly would have been a healthy discourse. We would buy each other beers, and talk knives. If you turned tail and ran out the door the moment I gave a rebuttal, you can see how that would look- cowardly? In any case, it would not look like you had very much conviction in your statements.
