I went back and searched "tomahawk" to see what threads had been started about hawks and only came up with a few, and since I'm ready to purchase my first hawk, I was wanting to get some opinions here.
I'm really leaning towards the Ranger Renegade. I've read some reviews, but would like to know what you dogs that have one think of it. Also throw any other favorites or suggestions out. I need some leads for some research.
Thanks fellas

I prefer the old style looks, but ultimately prefer function over form. I looked at the VTAC and didn't care for it's looks at all. I'll check yours out next.
Thanks

My Fort Turner chops very well and the back can be used as a hammer. It can also be used as a thrower although I have not thrown mine yet. I know that HD has thrown his. But as far as chopping it works very well.

That's the style I'm looking for, and the price is considerably cheaper. At those prices I could get the Ranger and the Turner and compare.
Thanks for the heads up!

I have a Ft. Turner and a Cold Steel. I guess there are better hawks, but I really like the FT a lot.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I actually was sharpening my CS Norse hawk and leaned it against the end table and went to bed. I woke up in the night and stepped on the bottom edge and put a painfull hole in the bottom of my foot. It is better now but was typical of the more embarrassing than harmful knife related injuries I keep inflicting on myself.

I want a hawk too, and will wach this thread with intrest. I like the Fort Turner pole hawks with the hammer face, I also like the idea of getting a CS Trail hawk or two and customizing it myself... here is what others have done. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483042

I'm having fun learning to throw mine.
