Hey guys..... How is he to deal with, overall? Had a bit of a disturbing snag with my purchase; I am trying to determine whether it is a fluke or Business as usual. Any problems with your orders/purchases?

Dan has communication issues. I'm not sure why, because sometimes he is very prompt and then I won't hear anything for weeks. ??? That said he is a really nice guy, but has a lot of things going on and I think he loses track of who he needs to communicate with. I have 6 of his knives now though.

He's been out of town since Thursday doing a survival course thing.

I remember him mentioning that he is going back to school as well so that may be distracting him. He seems to drop into his forum over on bladeforums.com quite regularly.

Ted, That (communication) is one of the issues. If I am not alone in that, I can deal with it. How is he on deliveries? You have six knives, which tells me a bit. He actually has 4 other knives on hand I am considering in one way or another.

If Dan has it in stock it is delivered quickly. The K-Boar took awhile(months) to get done, but that is fine as I was expecting that from a custom knife.
Dan is a great guy and the only issue I've had is communication. The knives are great and his shipping is fast, unless he has to make it.

He will make it right in the end though. Definitely a stand up guy.

Thanks, guys! I feel better, now. I was sure it was a simple mistake/oversite/oops, but, I have learned never to let things go. I am still waiting for a refund from a sheath maker I dealt with over 4 years ago, at this point. You live and learn.

It's funny you ask bro !
The origional reason I bought one of his Nessies was that my grandad had passed away and left me a little money, so I thought what can I get that I can use and remember my grandad by.....a knife I thought....what else !
So when I e-mailed Dan I asked if it would be possible to have the blade engraved or stamped with my grandads name. Dan told me he would do this free of charge and it was all logged on his ordering page, however when I recieved the knife there was no name ? The knife is great and well worth the money but not having the name on kind of defeated the purpose !!!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him though as he does make great stuff !
