Pitman, The swamprat board got so boring that I have not been over there in, oh, got to be over a year. Completely lost interest. Also have not bought any swamprat stuff in that time. Coincidence?

Buried in scrap yard blades.. Both exciting and very scary/dangerous! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Once there are more scrap yard blades to talk about I am sure the conversation will mainly focus on them. During the past 5 months the other discussions have kept a lot of people coming back. I think that is a big reason why out of all 3 Busse company sites this one is the most active.
JYD#10 Blade '08 - I challenge coined Dan Busse and WON! Blade '10 - The score is now 2-0!

Dan, I'm a newcomer to these forums and have only recently purchased my first Busse family products but, if my observations as a newbie are of any interest to you, when you don't offer product, it shouldn't surprise you that people start talking about other knives. I think one of the major reasons many forumites are still here, is because they enjoy each other's company and knife talk. I also think most forumites are knife enthusiasts first and Busse fans second. So, if there is no Busse product to buy, well, people talk about knives they CAN buy.
If everyone with "General Knife Discussion" took those topics elsewhere over recent months, few would even be here to be aware of any new Scrap Yard offerings.
I only have the SS4 and there is only so much to be said about it. I recently received a new Busse AD and am expecting a Game Warden. The next thread I was going to start was going to be a comparison of these two EDCs with EDCs from other makers. Should I take it over to Jerzee Devils or Ramanon?

Big +1 Cold One , we have a heck of a community here and when your product compares so favourably to the competition there is nothing wrong with a bit of variety. Also knife nuts are not like Ford or Chevy guys ,usually they buy lots of different knives but with similar features. Some of the names that pop up are Ranger ,Rat ,Fallkniven ,Tora and HI kukuris and Spyderco. They also tend to buy guns , axes and hawks ,quads(maybe that is just me)flashlights and camping gear.

What PoP said. I have a whole lot of Scrapyard stuff on my computer table, as well as few old-school swamprat knives, and a couple of Busse pieces, including a tan/tan AK. Would love to add a couple more dogs to the pile. Tan and tan. Tan/tan or light brown/beige would be cool. Unfortunately for me, knives are an addiction. Some people drink, some gamble, some cheat on their spouses, some play the ponies, etc. I buy knives. So far, I have one of everything released, except the ones I don't.

A scrapyard fighting bowie like the Hells Belle but with a res c handle and S7 but nice and thin 3/16th so it's real fast and a hook and I will never even buy a breadknife from another maker.

I'm more than happy to talk about SY knives, but the community here is definitely the primary draw. we always do end up reverting to talk about SY, regardless of what other topics come up, and everyone here is going to keep purchasing Busse family knives regardless of what's being discussed. I am not a fan of curtailing the general discussion, since that will put a damper on the genial community which thrives here. Vic already left, and he's been one of my favorite contributors. I'd hate to lose anyone else, and hopefully HD will come back after he cools down a little bit. this is a more welcoming, friendly, just plain nicer forum than any of the other forums I've visited on the intarwebs, and notably better than any of the general knife forums. I like coming here because I don't have to worry about trolls or antagonism; even when there's a difference of opinion it's resolved with civility. Dan, I know it's your forum, and you make the rules, but please use a velvet glove when determining what's okay in the forums, not an iron fist. let's keep this place alive.

Unsub, I second that. The Hell's belle is an outstanding example of the bowie. A scrapyard fighting bowie, lean and mean, would rock. Especially in tan.
