I appreciate the clarification Dan, if you can get Vic, Ted and Scrappy back on-board all will be well!

+1

I do not want to lose the friends that I have here and will miss you if you choose to leave! I understand what Dan is trying to say and as LeatherDog said there is the survival section to use as well so that the main forum does not get inundated.

Also, please come back HD and Scrappy!!!!

I would still really like to see a "general discussion" forum in the Yard that is separate from the knife forum and outdoors forum, as I think it'll keep the community stronger. It'd also make the Scrapyard Knife related posts more concentrated for the new guys in the Scrapyard "Knives Forum." That way, we won't have rifles and flashlights and off topic chat going on in here. Better for Scrapyard exposure, learning, and ease of navigation on the knife forum, and better for the community that has been built here.

If that happens, I'll bump all of my old picture heavy scrapyard abuse and use reviews to the top for anyone who would be interested in looking at them.

I, as a big fan of the Yard, would see that as an excellent solution to our problems.

As one of the most frequent violators of the Scrap Yard only policy, I felt it was best to delete my photos and most of my recent posts. I have been "lurking". I got pretty out there, I admit, posting real estate pictures or anything else I could think of that might be of some interest to the folks in the yard, while we waited for some genuine Scrap Yard Knife news. As I have posted many times, this is my favorite forum. I have enjoyed Ted's pictures of knives that have nothing to do with SYKCO knives. I have enjoyed the many "off topic" discussions and occasional rants we have engaged in. Without the "off brand" and "off topic" posts, the Yard would have been as slow as the other two Busse forums. As much as I hate it, Dan is right. There is a general knife discussion forum. I hated it over there beacause of all the trolls and the general unfriendliness of the place, but I guess that must be endured. It is Dan's forum, not ours. I have abided by the "no prices" and other rules. I will confine my posts to new SYKCO knives. See some of you over on the "General Knife Discussion" forum for other stuff.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Agreed. Thank you, Dan, for clearing things up.

And I'm glad comparison reviews are okay. I was concerned since my very first post to this forum asked for comparisons.

Dumpster Dan, Horn Dog, Scrappy and Tedwca--and MANY of you--were instrumental in helping me an make an informed decision to purchase a Scrap Yard Knife, while warmly welcoming me into the forum. I'd hate to see that change, as it keeps me coming back as often as I am able.

Glad you are sort of back Vic! Dan let's have a general section so we can still keep the 'yard (in)proper' alive and well and new visitors can still find you make some of the best knives around in a dedicated section of yard knife use and abuse..

I am still not sure what the rules actually are.
