Jim - better watch out using the term "horder" because those authorities you distrust are going to want to take your stash when the chips fall.

Since you don't know me (or my dry witty humor) I'll point out that I'm being serious.

Seriously.

Arch, you must have missed the post about Jim's boating accident...

I'm a simple man. I like simple things. I don't like clutter...I like my things to serve a purpose. I like building things...general fabrication, structures, houses, strategies, organizations, businesses. I like women...especially the one that puts up with me (that's a special attribute). I grew up in the woods...I work in a city...and my goal in life is to reverse this progression.

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

Not to go too far afield, but when I went to the Indy 1500, which is primarily a gun show, although a lot of knives are sold there, including at a Bussekin table that Mike Wood (thatmguy over on BladeForums) sets up, there were people collecting signatures on gun rights petitions. I'm thinking that if the folks they want to influence aren't going to respect the 2nd Amendment, then how much difference is a petition gonna make, and do I really want to hand over my name and address to be tagged as some sort of activist militia sort?

I'm Todd, I work as a Sheriff's Office dispatcher for my main job. I'm also a sports photographer for the local newspaper, where I worked as the Staff Photographer before coming to the Sheriff's Office. I have a college degree in photography as well.
I'm married, two kids, two dogs, and drive an old Ford F150. I doplay a little golf now and then in my spare time. Not much else worth knowing here.
I'm a regular visitor to SigForum also, but like here, don't post as much as I just read and try to learn.

Im Rob, Im divorced and have two kids that are great! I love anything Guns and knife related! I play drums for a local cover band, play hockey and love to wakeboard. I work for a Data storage company and have been there ten years. I go shooting every chance i get whether it is the range or the mountains. Other than that I spend a lot of time reading this forum and drooling on SYK's

I have never hunted an animal, but Ill make an exception for Micheal Vick!

Was catching up on this thread and read rth548's intro. In mine, don't think I went to indepth so here she goes.

Retired from the Air Force after 20years, 1 month and 16 days! (that's what my DD214 says). Started working for the Sheriff's Office 1 months before my actual retirement date. Worked as a part time Police officer for my home town for 3 years then got moved to the Mid shift at the S.O. and the city wanted me to work a set shift for them. couldn't do both so now Just still dispacthing after 16+ years. I'm 56 years, DO NOT trust the Government OR the court system (yeah I know weird) but have seen much "we'll take care of you cradel to the grave" from the Gvnmt and to much softness from the courts. Oh well, I try to take care of me and mine and WILL HURT anyone that tries to hurt us. I believe in taking care of your own problems as much as possible.

Oh and My name. I killed 8 or 9 skunks around our 2 block area one year with my trusty .177 Skunk Buster!

Ya'll are so gonna love me! I'm am one of those oft mentioned liberals! yep, a hard core lefty (on most issues)! Didn't know we could embrace steel and shooting did ya?

Name is Rich and been a social worker/human service professional since I graduated college in '92. Spent most of my career in HIV/AIDS work- hit burn out stage like 3 years or so ago and moved to work in a prison and inpatient psych unit. I'm a little pooped out with direct service work an would love to either do public health/prevention work or maybe work with kids in a community college setting. I think about the VA too...done some volunteer work with vets and think i could help some of our young returning soldiers who are struggling...might be to burnt out though!

Married for 9 years next week to a WONDERFUL woman, we have a 4 year old and are expecting our 2nd in 10 weeks almost to the hour! My wife has been a blessing in my family- so tough, strong and loving- she put a 15 year war to rest with my folks and has made their golden years...golden! She's from Colombia, I lived there for a year and we hope to live there or another country in awhile if we can swing it.

I love my hiking, some mellow martial arts practice, running and all- but family is #1!

Seems most of my favorite blades are my old school rats and my S5...What else??? Think it's good for websites to have a couple leftie/liberal/commie/pinkos around- I ain't all that bad, am I??!! Don't kick me out or shun me dudes! hah!

Hey RN, we don't mind Commie pinkos long as they like knives. I know that I am very outspoken at times. For that I DO NOT make an apology. Just my opinion and nothing else, just like we all have. I guess the thing that I REALLY don't like it "THEM" trying to control me from the cradle to the grave because "THEY" know what is best for me. By your post I would say you ARE NOT like that. Your concern seems to be helping people, not controlling them because you know what is best.

Hope I have not angered you, my goal was just the opposite.

Oh, and Good luck on you next child! When you first said your wife was from Colombia I was wondering what state it was in! . Sometimes I ain't all that bright. My mom hasn't calle me son in years!

Hah! Zero worries Skunk...I am what I am!

I know my politics are pretty different than a lot of folks here, I love it here and respect where folks are at.

I tease my wifey sometimes about Colombia becoming the 51st state, they have strong ties to the US and like a lot about our culture and English is weaving it's way in more strongly than other Latin American countries...She's less than amused by me, but that's par for the course!

Hehe, I hear you, being in a multinational marrage sometimes taking used to on both parts, just a natural part of life considering our different cultures. I was married to a girl from the Philippiines for 11 years, should have been a LOT less than that. Finally got fed up and told her if she was gonna do THAT kind of stuff she needed to be single and I fulfilled her wish for her. Best decision I ever made until I asked Patty to marry me. I am glad to see when people have successful marriages, specially now days! As Tom says, "Keep the faith brother". Oh, and You're OK in my book as long as you don't hold your pinky finger out when you drink coffee!
