The Infi EDCs are, from the top:
SS4
Meaner
AD
GW

[Linked Image from img213.imageshack.us]

Following the GW are:

Bodyguard by Al Polkowski
Agent by Bob Dozier
NY Special by Bob Dozier
Combat Options
Karda 3 by Daniel Koster

[Linked Image from img509.imageshack.us]

Here are the measurements I took of these knives:

In order, the measurements are: Weight, Blade Thickness, Blade Length, & Handle Thickness.

Busse Meaner 7.00, .200, 4 1/8, .705
Busse AD 6.35, .198, 3 1/2, .607
Busse GW 5.75, .200, 3 1/2, .701
SY SS4 5.45, .200, 4 3/16, .808
Dozier Agent 5.10, .150, 3 1/4, .606
Dozier NY Special 4.90, .185, 3 3/8, .608
Ken Brock Combat Options 4.75, .172, 3 7/8, .508
Polkowski Bodyguard 4.55, .125, 3 3/4, .406
Dan Koster Karda 3 3.55, .166, 3 1/4, .502

Having gone through this exercize, I'm not sure of what's been accomplished. It would be tough to pick a favorite, though I have carried the Dan Koster Karda the most, because of its convenient size and great sheath design. The Combat Options is also a great carry because it just feels right and, again, the sheath design is great.

I haven't had the Infi long enough to form much of an opinion, but I think the SS4 is too thick in the handle area to be concealable. The others are pretty heavy for their size, but may carry well in a good sheath. I don't have sheaths yet for the Meaner, AD or GW but Rainwalker has my order. I have a hunch the AD may turn out to be a favorite. I guess I'll know more when I've had the chance to carry them awhile.

the software doesn't accept tabs. Try using the code tags. that might help!

Hey Terry - Looks like you have a connection out northwest... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

What are the dimensions (blade / oal / thickness) on the un-named Skelly Rat? Eric hasn't posted them yet that I have seen.

I don't generally care for the feel of skeleton frames in my hand, but this looks like one of the better ones (?????).

If I don't like the feel of the handle, maybe I can put a handle on it (?????).

Apparently, it was $59.00 at Blade West, but Eric will NOT reply to many peoples request to confirm the price ..... ???? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

$59.00 seems like a good price. Maybe somebody wanted to raise it (????).

It was supposed to be released to the Company Store after Blade West.....

I "HAD" some money set aside after Blade West... But......, Another No show! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> - ..... I couldn't hold my breath any longer. Bought two Barkies and my first Fenix Flashlight.

Now there is Knob Creek.
I am betting there will be Rat Skellys at Knob Creek.....

"MAYBE".... we will see some of the Skellys after Knob Creek <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

.... Unless something else comes along that gets prioritized over us again. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

Unless they made a lot more of those Ratweilers than shown in the "wall picture", I am not holding my breath for those any time soon.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

.... frustrating how this works around here.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

.

Here's an old photo of some of my EDCs. I've tried to keep it limited to 5" and under.

I've added a few knives since this was taken; Busse Sage Meaner, Koster Dankura, another Koster K_TUSK, Scrapyard Yard Keeper, SwampRat RatManDu.

[Linked Image from img213.imageshack.us]

As for user favorites, I am SS4 all the way. (.... after stripped, reprofiled and sharpened <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

But, honestly, I don't "EDC" a fixed blade. They are all too big for me for "EVERY-Day" carry.

I use about 3-4 various sized folders for EDC. I like fixed blades more, but folders just work best for me for EDC carry. There are some nice folders to be had...

But, when hiking, camping, in the yard, in the field, etc. - a good 4" - 4.5" blade is my favorite.

The SS4 is one of the best IMO.

It is not the prettiest, but the handle is very well shaped, very comfortable, functional choil (as opposed to the silly Talon hole - wasted space and a detriment to knive's of that size a knife IMO - Otherwise the Meaner, AD and GW all seem pretty decent.... if stripped, reprofiled and sharpened <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

Personally, ... I had the AD breifly and I saw great potential hidden in that knife. But, it was too expensive for me to keep considering what I felt I needed to do to it. I am sure the GW has the same potential. But, aside from stripping, reprfile and putting a good edge on, I personally, would HAVE to grind that Talon hole into a functional choil.

[Linked Image from i80.photobucket.com]

For fixed EDC, I could probably make some suggestions, but I don't feel it would be appropriate...

Ted - let me know when you're NOT going to be home so I can score some more steel <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Bill - I really like your AD.

And KG's skelly w/ perfect RW sheath are great as well!

OK... You busted me. Don't tell. I got more than two...

Canadian Special 2007 - <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> - This may be one of my favorite all around use knives right now! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Aurora - <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> - As it is, I like the Aurora more than the Bravo-1. If (when <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ), I grind the thumb ramp off of the Bravo-1, then it will be a tough call.

OMF .... Nice design, but I have pretty big hands. There are a lot of regulars over with the Barkie guys that love those little knives. But, at 5.625" oal, it is just smaller than I care for. I am really looking forward to the OMF II that should be larger

Mini Skinner - don't have yet. Should be here tomorrow. I wanted something similar to the Pro-Scalpel II (Limited to 25) and something larger than the OMF and smaller than my Mini Northstar (...um.... EDC <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />...). But, I didn't want to pay the price for the Pro-Scalpel II LE and I don't care for brass hardware on the LE.
The Pro-Scalpel II appears to be made from the Mini-Skinner. I "think" I may try to customize the Mini Skinner to my liking. The Mini Skinner has 4 finger grooves, but there is no way that handle is big enough for four fingers. It is a three finger knives. We'll see....

I almost purchased the Colonial Patch knife. It is on my list and looks like a great.... um... EDC <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> ). But, I have to watch my spending right now. I spent way more than I have to spend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

I have about 30 or so Barkies.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

As best as I can tell dimensions for the rat skelly are:

OAL: 7"
BL: 3"
Blade thickness: 3/16"

The handle feels good in my hands. Its not to small and the rounded end make it pretty comfortable.

I did see some hanging in the upper right hand corner in the Knob creek pics, so i am sure there will be some there.

Actually, by posting the dimensions my hope was to illustrate the differences between blades having similar footprints and how some blades may be better suited than others to discrete EDC, with slimmer and lighter being the better choice for city carry. Since I was unable properly format the specs., the idea became kind of cumbersome.

Hope you enjoyed the comparison pics.

I do like the looks of that fixed blade too, but I was really referring to the folder to the right of it. Good for you Vance. I think the AD is a nice "tweener." I'm hoping mine will carry well. I have one of Rainwalker's xloop sheaths on order. With the Xloop, I'll be able to carry either horizontally or vertically.

When you get your AD, I'd love to see some pics.

Boy Ted, when looking at your extensive collection, I see some familiar faces. The old Gerbers, the Karda, the Slither, and the HI Kerambit, for example. I sent my Gerber MKI, Command I and others over to Iraq as part of the Knives for a Soldier Program a few years ago.

How do you like your HI Kerambit? I feel fortunate to come away with all my fingers and toes every time I handle mine. The supplied sheath is really hazardous and I've not gotten around to replacing it.

I totally agree that the SS4 is perfect when it has been stripped ,polished and reprofiled. I used to like black blades but after having them get all scratched and ugly after hard use with no way to repair them now I much prefer the satin or polished. I espesially like the Mercworx finish that can be fixxed with a scotchguard pad.

The Scout knife IS an official Boy Scout knife. I think it's my second or third knife ever.

I like the kerambit, but wish it was smaller. I got a kydex sheath from Dan Koster and that works WAAAY better than the original one.

The long pointy knife is by Jim Rehrer http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=458048

I want a Meaner so bad.

Cardinal fans aren't allowed to have Meaners. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yes we are. The red G-10 handles and black blade will work very nicely with the red 2006 World Champions T-shirt. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Arrrrgh! Nothing like color coordination I guess. Imagine being in a position to choose today's EDC based on wardrobe choice.

Maybe in less than the next 100 years they will make a blue G10 Meaner for you all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hey, at least the Cubs play real baseball, and not that American League/Mens Softball that the junior circuit plays.

I won't hold my breath for the Cubs. A blue G10 Meaner does stand a chance though.
