My 1989 Mustang,for example, which I bought new, still looks new.

Not the larger rougher textured one, the smaller finer texture one. Then I use hot water and dish soap. Here’s another tip. I bought one of the small travel shampoo bottles from the pharmacy department to fill with dishsoap to keep with my knife cleaning/maintance stuff.
