Here is a stock PBF. It is not straight on so it still looks smaller than it is.

Now that would be a good combat knife as well as a fighter..

That Javck is awesome. It actually looks better than the PBF or Hooker for everyday use. 3/16th INFI rules.

Satin Jacks are superb knives. They're not actually rare; they're one of the most produced Busse knives.

The 6" PBF is rather similar to a SJ. If you were to start with an SJ, make the point pointier (but also thicker toward the tip), make the body of the blade sturdier and a hair wider, make the edge profile more acute and sharper, make the guard more protective, make the grip more secure, and make the balance faster, you'd end up with a 6" PBF. When you see them side by side, it appears that the 6" PBF started from an SJ pattern. The 6" PBF is like an E series Satin Jack on steroids.

By the way, be aware that not all CG SJs are 3/16". For the first few years of production, the CG SJs were 1/4", and for the last few years, they were 3/16".

I prefer 3/16th as well. INFI and even 52100 and S7 are strong enough that you don't need the extra thickness also it makes for a duller knife.

I am a fan of Mercworx, I have a Vorax, S30v Chili Handle. They are not the cheapest knives and I heard buying from the company is PITA(I didn't, so I don't know). Fit and finish is amazing and one the most comfortable handle around. I haven't done much hard use with the knife so I don't know how it stacks up to other fighters availible.

Sorry the one pic is kinda blurry...

Thanks JR and welcome to the Yard. It is getting to be a lot of canuks around here. When I bought my first scrapper the exchange rate sucked now it is an 8% sale on everything.

I really like the chili pepper handle and the finish. I am ordering some belts so I can do the same finish on my knives. I guess the guy who designed the mercworx knives is part of this Christian merc outfit fighting in Sudan against the Janjaweed militia and the army. They know their knife fighting that's for sure.

If you ever want to trade your Vorax for a Scrapper YKLE and Swampwarden and maybe some cash PM me?
