I am excited that we are getting some new Scrap Yard steel this Tuesday night. That DMLE is beautiful. But for $69 more, I can get a tan/sage Ratwieler that the Swamp will be offering soon. Oh the torment! Decisions, decisions. Either way, I'll get a great knife.

forgive me, but the cg d-mutt appeals to me more. more chop, less slice, and i'll always have my folder. if i decide to blow some money, it would be the 'weiler for me. beside, that thing's legendary.

I don't think ANY 5" knife is a real chopper, but I'd bet the DMLE will chop as well as the CG model, if not better. I like my Urban Mutt so much, I may pass on the DMLE, but don't quote me on that. It will be hard for me to resist the Tuesday night feeding frenzy!

I wonder if the Yard Guard and Yard Hook will out chop the Ratweiler? With those heavy recurve blades and Res C handles, they just might. That DMLE is a beauty, for sure. Of course I'd scratch it up and use it, just like I did the YKLE.

I've participated in some frenzies and watched others. They're fun either way, Vic. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

me too, I have alwayed tuned in to to wach the vieth of a new blade even if I could not have any for my self.

Vic, I would say the classic Busse Family answer is, "get both"
however if you were to only get one, get the one that you need (hehehehe you have hundreds of blades every size) get the one that adds the most diversity to your collection, or the one that contunues the theme of your collection. I get wwhat ever makes you happiest or the one you will get the most use out of.

I understand your situation Vic. It is a hard choice. I just can't imagine having to choose between the two... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Being of weak resolve I have both... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Getting both would really set me back, but as Bors says, there are only two kinds of dogs, the quick and the hungry. I surely don't need either, and I want them both! I am such a steel addict.

The knife I am most interested in is the Skelly Rat.
I love my SS4 as an EDC but the handle is a bit big for comfy carry and a Skelly would sove all that. It is getting annoying that all the cool knives are only available at shows in the US.
