Well if the DMLEs are being offered to the yard on the website, surely the Urban Mutts will be offered soon, as they are not limited editions. I think. Even the Yard Keeper Limited Editons were offered after Blade, remember? I would expect to see some CG Yard Keepers offered as some point, too.

I'm with you, Bruce. I expect to see a bunch of CG models in the very near future. I think Dan set these DMLEs aside for those of us that couldn't make Knob Creek. I'm expecting tan/sage S6s, Urban Mutts, and maybe some surprises as soon as he gets them in, maybe by the end of next week. He did beat Eric on the draw and these DMLEs WILL be availabe at the store, right?

Vic,
I think, I may have a "solution" to your dilemma...
Go ahead and get a DMLE on Tuesday night... for me... and if you can't part with it when the time comes to send it off to me... keep it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
What do you reckon, mate?

I've got mixed feelings on that, M22. The DM is really too short to be an effective chopper. So the thinner grind on the DMLE doesn't really concern me. I also prefer CGs to LEs. But a DMLE can be had for about the same price as a DM sells for on the secondary market. That argues in favor of the DMLE as well. Having said all that, I have to agree that the Ratweiler is legendary. Were it not for the fact that I own a Camp Tramp and a DF, I'd opt for the 'weiler too! now that point about the secondary market is quite good. i haven't checked myself. as far as chop to slice ratio, i wouldn't tell someone lookin for a chopper to get a d-mutt but if you need to and all you've got's your d-mutt, i'd be glad to have an extra ounce or two. on further reflection, though, the thinner edge and smoother finish of the LE may take deeper bites, so i could be completely wrong. in conclusion, i'll go ahead and get one by winning the pumpkin contest and when i do, i'll perform a detailed field comparison of the two on a cold weekend.

Good idea, Magnum. That's really the only way to find out. It's all for science!

I own the old style Weiler, it is no comparison to the Mutt. I mean these two knives are completely different, these means Vic you will need to buy both. :-)
I'm gunning only for the Mutt and maybe the Warden (when it comes out in two weeks).
