I like both versions. The new grip looks comfortable to me. The new point will put more steel and weight forward, which might help in chopping.

there is always lots of talk about the someeday S7 but what about a S7.5 or even an S8? are these of any intrest or is the S7 "The One"?

Since the S6 blade is 6 7/16", and the Guard and Hook blades are 7 3/8" I think the S7 will be, too. I didn't measure the prototype at Blade, but it had a great feel to it. The Ratweiler is supposed to have a 7 9/16" blade. An 8" blade Scrapper would be fine with me, though.

The S7 has probably been the most frequently requested Scrap Yard knife since I've been here.

That's probably because everyone wants a Camptramp and the S-7 is probably the closest thing.

The S7 is the knife that would beat the Ratweiler for me.

I like the look of the handle shape on those ratweilers. I bet it would be nice in the hand for machete type work.

The Ratweiler does look good. Looks like a "Swamp knife" to me.
