While there appears to be many possible numbers, they are limited by the adding and subtracting and the 2 digit limit. If you notice the icon that appears is repeated on several numbers. The answer will always be 9 or add up to 9. I learned it from an inspirational speaker. He was a little annoyed that I worked it out. I'm pretty good with patterns, but not explaining how I do it.
