I don't quite get the folks who claim they can't afford a big chopper. Battle Rats have been showing up in the $200 range all the time on BF. 360joules just sold one for $235 *with a sheath.*
That said, $155 is a little better deal, though a different steel. I know I won't be sleeping for 24 hours after Dan gives the wink.

I'm 15. $45 or $75 it's a lot of money for me.

bld522, I appreciate your posting my former comment. I have spent the day at Portland's Gun and Knife show. I think this thread has served a very good purpose. I have a comment and then a question. My experience with the Busse knives only goes back one year. First I want to clarify my opinion. I have no problem with the secondary market on Busse knives in general (have you priced a Randall or Loveless lately?). I can not find fault with the price of a knife that sells in 45 seconds (or even 5 hours). Obviously someone thought it was not overpriced. Clearly anyone who wanted a FBM could have bought one. Same for SS6 and M6. That was actually true for the SS4 (I passed due to buying a HRLM the same Saturday). My original comment was intended to address the madness around the GW's and the second issue of SS4, and previous issues of HHSH's, etc. on BCS. But those knives (HHSH) all had an initial company offering where we had plenty of time to order it. Here is my questionb for the old time HOGs and RATs. Has the GW type problem occured before or is it really a one time problem. The problem I am referring to is the buying of large number of knives by a few individulas for the purpose of immediately reselling them. I understand the old SwampRat problem of the long delays. That was not good either. I also do not think the Busse company's have any responsibility to be sure people can get old models cheaply. If I want a 1962 corvette it is going to cost me. I think I have rambled on long enough. There are probably 5 or 6 old model swamprats I would like to buy but I cannot afford the secondary market price. That is noone's problem but my own. I would love to have a HOGFSHLE. I never will. This entire thread proves the Busse company's make knives we want. So back to reading everyone's comments. Patiently awaiting the DF. Buy the way, Dan, it is so cool you are here commenting. Ron Athay

Man I can be long winded. Sorry. I need to make another ocmment. With out the secondary market I would have NO chance of buying a Desert SAR or Desert JACK, or Ratweiler, or the HOGFSHLE I can not afford. At least they are there for the option (and to provide pictures for me to lust after). So, no, please do not shut off the secondary market. If I wanted an Orange GW bad enough I could get one. We all have to make our choices. Today I could not afford a very nice custom knife at the Gun and Knife show. I design electrical systems on Yachets made in the Vancouver area. I can not afford those either (start at 23 mil). I can afford a DF (and a RAT Trail, etc). So I will watch, and wait, and then buy the knives I can afford and want if I can. Ron Athay

I have spent the day at Portland's Gun and Knife show. Is that this weekend?! I really need to get in touch with those folks. I occasionally set up a sales table there, but they've stopped updating the calendar on their website and have removed their contact info. I have no clue when the shows are coming up and no way to contact them to ask. Hope you had a good time. Maybe next time, I'll see you there.

Thanks Ron! Their old site was Rosecitygunshows.com . Looks like they finally redirected that webpage to the new site.
Oh and I definitely plan to go to the Eugene show. I'm already trying to stock up for that one.

I am still wondering if Garth Brooks is a zombie or not! If Garth Brooks is a zombie, we may need a Scrap Kensei pretty quickly after the Dogfather gets done.
