My server seems to be having issues with displaying the pics. My understanding of brother Dan's knife work is that he is a performance guy and not so much a fit and finish guy. Go beat the crap out of it and you'll never notice a little gap behind the blade. I have seen the same thing in the INFI Street Scrapper 4s also with no negative performance noticed from the gap. Someone filled it in with glue or putty or something just for the cosmetic effect. If it wasn't an LE I would be less concerned, but it is and I am.

No gaps on any of my mutts (have 5, two LE's)
I think the penetrator tip was on CG only, not LE
Ted, I will give you $90 by pp for your blade, so you will not have to look at it any longer.... See, it's already affecting resale value. Note that on the knives page, DMLE is described as having 5" blade with penetrator tip.

I never noticed that. I went straight to the order page! But if you look at the picture Dan posted, there is no visible penetrator point. I wasn't expecting one and mine don't have the gaps. I guess I got lucky. I really like my DMLEs. I left one of mine with the factory edge, and it is pretty darned sharp compared to some past offeriings. I just prefer a thinner edge. I am pretty sure Dan will repair or replace any defective DMLEs if he is contacted. A penetrator point would be easy to do. You could do it with a file if you had to.

Dan had mentioned somewhere that there was no penetrator tip on this one, so I wasn't expecting one. barrabas74 is the one who was expecting it. I just want a knife where the blade doesn't look like it's falling out of the handle.
I've emailed Dan, but no reply yet and given my luck with Patti or Dan getting my emails I don't have a lot of faith in him getting it.
On that note one of my email accounts(halofotos.com) I never use got hijacked 30 minutes ago by a spammer and I can't get in to try and stop it and there is no link to support from the log in page. %&$@!@$!
