I find his test entertaining.......but to call them "valuable"....what value do they offer? Anyone can break a knife...that IS his goal. We all have cut with the knife and chopped with it....do you expect different results or do you just want to see him break it? On the surface they appear to be nothing more than some nut destroying knifes. Actually they give you a real good idea of how much stress a knife can take. His approach is not scientific but non the less provides usfull info. As for doing domb things with knifes we have all been there and broke that. Now we get the pleasure of watching some one else break knifes. Noss is a bit of a hot topic but personaly I like what he does.

I began modifying and racing my Toytota MR2 spyder about 5 years ago. Back then, many others had posted about lost engines from low power mild mods (6-9psi on small turbos putting out only 195hp up from stock 120hp to the wheel), but I always considered these posts to be questionable and prove nothing as the results could be from bad tune, or anything other than i would consider to be too much power/sheer brute force to test the breaking point). Being that I wanted to begin racing this car, and had spare engines lined up... I decided to test the breaking point and look for the 'sweet spot.'
Every two weeks I would raise boost up about a pount or two. At 10psi I was putting out 260whp (blowing out all previous turbo efforts). At 14psi she was an animal. I finally got her up to 16.8psi and a rod twisted up. Where others were breaking pistons and blowing head gaskets at 195whp, my pistons and gasket held flawless past about 330whp where a rod let go. I concluded the first hp limiting factor was the rod (and should be the first upgrade, as opposed to so many who were doing pisons on stock rods basing the need on others results).
Long story short... The test proved very useful to me, and everyone thought I was an idiot and a nut for testing and posting results this way. People question every conclusion, method, and got mad I questioned their low hp failures everyone had the 'my tune is flawless' complex. Oh well. I was happy I did it, and I proved our engine did not have a 'glass jaw.' Weather Noss hits something 300x or 340x to fracture it matters vitally to some and should be at least interesting to others.. that said, the one time he hits a blade 3x and gets a failure... we will all see the benefit of his testing right away...
I am looking forward to seeing results of Busse Family.

We all have cut with the knife and chopped with it....do you expect different results or do you just want to see him break it? The same could be said of Cliff Stamp. Destructive knife tests have their place. If noss is willing to spend his money killing knives, I'm willing to see what it takes for him to do that. Hmmmm. I wonder when he's going to take on a Mission MPK-Ti? Now THAT would make for an interesting destruction test. That would be interesting... I've got an MPS. Paid so much for it that I don't use it much though...

Ironballs- +1 mate! Good 'argument'.
I'd like to see a S6 put through it's paces- it'll half kill the poor bugger in the hockey mask, trying to break that knife!

I haven't watched the vids yet but read his review - sounds like the S6 showed Noss "who's boss!" I've been telling him for quite a while now that Scrapyard is as tough as you'll get for the money. Looks like the S6 is the only knife to get "6 swords" as a rating - and it deserves it.
The fact that he COULD NOT break his S6 made me happy - I think its the first one to finish a test without being totally destroyed.
Nice work, Dan!

Hmm. He did manage to break it by trying to baton it through that piece of pipe twice! It finally snapped one he started using the leading edge to cut the pipe.
These knives are beasts! Anyone who doubts what they can handle should watch that last video!
