That was tremendous. It was great to watch Noss' amazed delight when he failed to destroy the knife.

Congratulations Dan! You make a really impressive knife.

I'm soooo glad I have an S6.

I was so impressed with Noss who gave it everything he had. I was more impressed that he didn't hurt himself with that mallet flying and that much steel vibrating, stressing, sparking and shaking.

Did you notice that up until the Scrappers last breath that it still looked like a knife (not sure how) and there was enough knife to still survive with.

Dan

Hello everyone. bld522 thanks for the early welcome.:) Glad to see some of you enjoyed the test on that mean tough old Scrapper 6
Noss, welcome to the yard. I love your tests! I would never go that far with my knives, but I'm glad you do. You have found the right place. We love hard use knives here. I'm glad you're here.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Hello Dan, It was still a knife in my book. As you could see it still had life in it. The most brutal then I can do is hammer a knife edge into steel. Most break or tear out then the end is near.

But on your Scrapper 6 with so much edge damage. It still was able to shear through the cross section of the steel tubing. The cross section is very tough to get through. It's a curved surface with no starting points. It take major force just to get it started. The Scrapper 6 Did it almost twice. This was the crowning moment for me. SR-77 is some very resilient to damage.

I'm just making a guess because I am not a steel expert but I would think the micro fractures were very shallow and did not continue deep into the steel.

Great stuff Dan.. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a blast with it and learned a lot

You know how to work the this steel. Your the man Dan

at part seven.. when he got it hammering through the rolled steel and its sinking in... I am grinning like a perv. in a school yard, and begin laughing and when he pulls it out and he begins to chuckle at the blades toughness... I just busted up laughing out loud... WOW.... this is sick...

Thats funny...that was my exact reaction.

I finally got to finish watching the vids - pretty amazing. I didn't realize that he was able to break it - but that wasn't until it'd gone way beyond what the other knives he's destroyed have done - through all of his "normal" testing, if you will. I'm w/ Iron balls on being just beside myself when he was pounding through those steel bars!

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the methods used, you can't possibly argue that the S6 isn't a tough SOB.

Yeah, but how many of us will ever hammer our S6 through steel tubing like that. The only person I can think of that might try that is my wife and it would go something like this:

Me: "What the $%^& are you doing with my knife"
Her: "I needed a hacksaw"
Me: "That's not a $%^&**# hacksaw"
Her: "You mean it's not?"
Her Again: "Umm 911 I need you to send the poilce over here right away!"

LOL!!!!

I agree, I can hear it now. LOL

Welcome to the Yard

Thats the theme here - Hard Use! "Price to Performance" - "Performance" meaning nuc-proof and virtually indestructible! I'm pretty sure that it would be impossible to destroy a Scrapper out in the real world without tools and vices - but it sure was cool to watch you do it! My Dogfather is my trusty woods companion - and its stouter than the S6! Hopefully when Dan releases those again you'll get your hands on one and put it through its paces.
