1911. . . because a man should carry his gun on his hip at all times.

My first reaction was Garand, then I saw the 870 and wanted to vote for it, because I have one and that makes me manily. Then I saw the 4th option, and with out much hesatation voted the for Browning Automatic Rifle.

I almost voted 1911, but chose the Garand.
The Garand is a MAN'S weapon, in a man's caliber.
You can get the 1911 in pretty boy 9mm besides masculine manly .45, so my vote went to the Garand.
Could not vote for the BAR, since the average man cannot own it.

(Ok guys you got me.. Given half a chance and less draconian laws I'd be packing a 10mm Glock!)

As has been proven time and time again, disarming the public only disarms the (harmless) law abiding citizen- the criminals by their very nature will ignore the laws and have an easy stress-free life...

Now back on topic= In the poll I voted AK, pure and simple performance in any conditions- not brilliantly accurate but it'll get the job done!

I went with the BAR, but would have chosen the M249 SAW if it had been on the list.
If man-portable isn't a requirement, then you gotta love the GAU-8 Avenger.

I voted for the 870. It's outstanding on the bad guys. And after drilling them you can shoot skeet with it. It's like the swiss army knife of firearms.

The Garand and BAR are great rifles BUT the Garand's 8 round box limits its usability and the BAR's fixed barrel set up limits it's use in a sustained fire light machine gun role. I didn't go AK on a whim! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
