Did a little more work on my funky Yard Guard this morning. Then I took it out and chopped with it. This is my long-term project knife, and I'm not through with it yet. It is chopping better now.

that is turning into a super wicked looking knife.

The sanders are on sale. I'm getting another one and leaving it set up for flat grinds. I'll just go back and forth between two sanders already set up to save time. Still cheaper than a knifemaker's belt sander. 3rd World Grind Shop..(on my back porch)....expanding to meet demand! Best in all China!

very smart bro. Your not kidding on the differences in price! We have a HF near me (Portland) and when the stuff I want is on sale, bamm! but for me, my next sander will be one I make, I'm looking at designs and idea's now, but it will still be way more than our 1x30! Long Live the 3rd World Grind Shop!

Sheesh Vic - that looks great! I don't have the technology you do, but I'm always screwing with my RD7 - stripping it, bluing it, adding handle spacers, etc. Its my project blade! Hopefully I'll get a bigger place when we move and be able to set up a little shop - get a belt sander - and get the 4th World Grind Shop going! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

That is one nasty (in a good way) looking knife! I love the mirror shine at the edge. As a bonus, you don't have to carry a signal mirror when you strap on that knife.
