I've used mine to chop small trees down and de-limb them. Expensive is relative. I could have bought 4 of them for the price of my Busse AK-47 and they chop a lot better than the AK. The only down side of this blade is the lack of a guard. The blade comes SCARY sharp and I'd like a bit of a guard to protect my fingers.

get some kevlar gloves

The micarta handles get a little slick with gloves. I use a lanyard to keep my hand off the blade.

They sold for as little as $119 new. They didn't seem to sell, then all of a sudden they were gone and everyone wanted one.
