The CG version should be announced soon Mag! Can't have that list of yours getting too short now can we? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

How much is the CG version going to be?
I really want one now that I have seen HD's and I think everyone needs at least 1 Busse.

I did not like my M6. I have tiny hands and the weight was off. I loved Duanes sheath though. I much prefer my Hooker.

I would like to see a comparison with some pics between the S6LE and the Muttly.
They are both shiny full height grinds one 5 inch and the other 6 inch.

No idea about the price, sorry! I figure it will hurt either way. Either costly to get one, or a decent deal and then have to get two!

I didn't see you there Jerry! All I saw was the hog. Actually, I live in an apartment in downtown Jacksonville. I have been sneaking into your yard while you're at work to chop things up. Busted! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

If you live in Jacksonvile then you're a braver man than I thought.

Hah! Hiding in the palmettos again. If it was still Summer you'd have a bunch of chigger bites!

Did you see Jerry's If You Like Ugly. . . Howz About A Competition Grade Finish??? poll from 10/12/2007 on BladeForums? He's at least considering offering pre-stripped, factory convex beveled blades as an option.

Well... I never saw the poll option. I don't frequent the Busse site very often (too expensive). But, I stop by over there very randomly. So, thanks for sharing it here.

I DEFINITELY prefer satin.

And I REALLY like the zero convex edge MUCH more than the edges I have been receiving!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

So, I voted - Heck Yeah.

....But, I feel a little cynical about what the end results may be in pricing. Will the pricing for "Competition Grade" be less because of not putting on the coating? Or will they charge MORE because they will finally be putting on a decent edge at the factory comparable to the edge they use and obviously know is better:

"When we run new designs for our destructive testing we don't worry too much about the finish. . . but boy can those puppies cut!!!. . . We put a zero convex bevel along the edge that screams!!!!. . . "

So, apparently, they have known that a zero convex edge is better and use it themselves for testing!

I don't know if I should just convince myself that they are just now seeing the light about quality edges (which I doubt! - since I have read about actual "Cutting" tests.). Or except the concept that they have knowingly been providing sub-par factory edges all this time.

It seems this should be a win/win deal for me and others who strip their blades.

Offering uncoated blades would save me the stripping process, but that is actually the VERY easiest part of me doing my own Busse knife stripping projects.

Theoretically, this is one less production process for Busse, but will we actually see savings???

Ultimately, I would rather have LE version or satin finished versions at better prices.

I was dissappointed to see the recent DMLE at about $60.00 more than the original CG version.
That is too much to finish a blade! The satin finish almost doubled the price from $69 - $129! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

I am concerned about what the price may be for the DFLE - if there ever is a DFLE (????).

But, I am hopefull about further improvements on factory edges (????). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

.
