Welcome back, Dan. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hunting is almost always fun, even if it's not always rewarding... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Very true! I have the most fun just enjoying the outdoors and the solitude.

SS4 is my hunting scrapper of choice.

I use a Buck 105 pathfinder for deer hunting, but if I was to use a SYK, it would be a SS4.

Welcome back Dan. Glad you got to spend time with your son. That's the most important piece of the trip. Although a deer would have been nice I am sure. I look forward to getting out and shooting with my sons when they get older.

I got a good sized doe opening day. I will have to post a picture or two. The old .300 did her job at about 150+ yards. Had my DF riding in the thigh rig all weekend.

What are you hunting with and more importantly what knife were you carrying?

I have a Browning A-Bolt Eclipes (laminated stock with thumbhole)in 308 Win with the BOSS system topped with a Springfield 4 x 14 power. I get just under a 1/2 inch, three shot group at 100 Yards. The best that I have ever done was to take a deer at 367 yards. Its a shooter.

This year I carried a Dumpster Mutt and a Scrapper #6. Last year I carried a Dog Father, but I found it a little big for skinning, it worked, but it was a lot of blade for the fine work.
