Yeah, I already have some of those coins in my coin collection. If you want them you can get them from the stamp machines in Walmart. Just put in a $20, buy 1 stamp, and get $19 in dollar coins plus change. They're good for little kids birthdays and such, cause most of them haven't seen them before.

Call me old fashioned but........
I like the old Ike dollars or the old silver dollars. There is no mistaking what they are. Now Those were dollar coins as for the "new" tiny ones well

I'm really surprised that no one mentioned that "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is one the edge also. That has been on coins since 1795. Before that, it said, "No lo bastardo caborundum". You guys are killing me. Its good to have a sense a humor when dealing with the government. I can clearly say with confidence. "In God I Trust" Dan

Well said Dan. I gotta say I rarely get to hold on to money long enough to pay too much attention to it and I hate carrying coins of any kind most of the time. The government is always changing stuff, it's inevitable. I'm sure if there's enough of an outcry, they'll change it back. I for one will have no reasons to get any of these and if given the choice I'll take the good old paper dollars.

We have had 1$ and 2$ dollar coins in Canada for a long time and hopefully soon we will get the 5$ coins soon. I really like the coins myself. If you are the kind of guyb who prefers buried money in your garden to stocks dollar coins rock. Coins stay in circulation 7 to 10 times as long so if you bury some you are not stuck trying to get rid of a bunch of old bills. They also make saving for things way easier. If you put all your change towards say the next Scrapper it will add up very fast and rather painlessly. I would say about 90% of people much prefer the Loonies(our dollar coin has a loon on it)to the old bills. It is also way cheaper for the mint.
It is not like they removed the "in God We Trust" just moved it.
You feel like a pirate with your "booty" when you have a bunch of coins.

I like the old Ike dollars or the old silver dollars. Yeah, you can't beat REAL silver or gold money.

I wouldn't care if the phrase was planned to be omitted. We put it on back in the 50's as a way to further distinguish ourselves from the godless commies, just as we did with our Pledge of Allegiance. To me it has very little to do with the foundations of this country and a lot to do with domestic unification during the cold war. I also find stamping cash "In God We Trust" to be a little self-delusional.
If I can make it dark, I can make it light.
