I'm trying not to get all pissy about it... but it isn't working.
The last time I got all worked up here was during the big "off topic posting" blowout, and I now feel I was in the wrong about that.
This one has me a little miffed, though!

Has anyone considered that the "GO GO GO!!" will be on Jerry's site 60 secs before it's posted to the Scrapyard site? There will unlikely be any other restrictions in ordering, the software is not that sophisticated.

I think it'll be done manually though... likely... If we order early we get booted? Then again, how will we know when time is up?
This seems poorly planned.
Great post over there, Ted, BTW.

i feel ya, dice. i had just come out of lurking a week or two before the last blowout. it felt a little surreal at the time, but i believe level heads prevailed (which is both expected and endearing about this place).
i have to say that chris's situation (the complete set) was the first thing that crossed my mind. the second thing was that i didn't really like the premise on principle. the third thing was that i should chill because, after all, this community is voluntary and we need to ensure that we are always individually and collectively masters of our domains - servants to none.
and that's all i'm going to say about that.

the way i read it was that all orders are on the scrapyard site... "THESE MUST BE ORDERED DIRECTLY FROM SCRAP YARD during the Razorganzaaaaa". Only ordained hogs ("Only 23 more") count...
wait. i actually don't care enough to play this game. i'm with pitman on the value of the steak knife in my "user only" assortment (see. i don't even call it a collection.) I want serrations on my boat knife and on my whitewater vest knife and on my bread knife. that's pretty much it.
anyway, how did finals end up? you finished monday if i recall.

Speed - this was my first 4.O semester! Unless my gut feelings and math are way off - I ended with strong A's in all of my classes! Hopefully I can keep that up for my last semester as well - but we'll see.
Thanks for asking! School is much easier now that I'm a little "older."

y. that's what i found as well. i had competing priorities as an undergrad. in grad, i had a wife and a job and a mortgage. result: no screwing around = learn a lot more!
