nobody knows yet! their so new; only a year out really. they claim 1000 cycles (recharges) so figure how long a typical battery last you, then multiply that by 1000! even if it's half! that's amazing and so far all the manufactures claims made about them are either accurate or better!

the nice thing is you can wait for the re-chargables to pan out or fall off the cliff, they'll do it or not and if you have to wait and they take over, it/they will just get cheaper.

good question! I'm gonna say yearly. but remember a lot of tec stuff has bugs and isn't the overall best product yet. in flashlights many times brigher means less usage or not the best color of light (purplish or some color). I like to wait a year or so for the bugs to be worked out and how much brighter do we need! I want average bright 150-170 lumens that last 20+ hours on one cycle. that's my dream light. now you get a few hours (1-2 turbo) at best.
