What do you guys think about khukuris? a scrap yard khukuri would be awesome!
I've enjoyed using my khuks for camping, which is my main task for a fixed blade, chopping wood, starting a fire, digging a hole, and cutting food and ropes.

what do you think?

I haven't seen a Khukuri on ScrapYard's "future blades" thread..

BUT Jerry over on BF *did* say Busse was thinking of one!!

so... we'll see how it goes!

5160/recycled leaf springs is plenty good enough for a khuk. they're already unbreakable. yeah i know, corrosion, concrete, all that jazz. maybe we should ask for infi toothbrushes or helmets. one day we'll see a thread titled "i dug a pool in my yard with my infi spoon! i'll save my saliva for the dog father.

actually, i kinda like that infi spoon idea...maybe a ladel with matchin nuclear cereal bowl that doubles as a beanie helmet and prybar/beatstick. infi wok? you know you'd buy that beanie bowl, don't even try to deny it.

I love my Kuk machete even if it is a CS product. One of the sexiest kukuri's is the Extrema Ratio one.The shape makes it able to chop much harder and thicker
branches than you would normally be able to so long as you hit the sweet spot.

i know there are people here who don't know about him imps but want to so here's how i organize the main chopper models. start with the WW2 model, a big bent knife with a massive rat tail tang (sometimes referred to as an alligator tail). make it a little smaller and pointy and you've got the BAS. add a fuller near the spine for strength and you'e got the ang khola, the unbreakable knife. smooth the spine to a continuous arch and you've got the ganga ram, my favorite. a smoother arch that goes to the pommel and a full tang makes it the m43, adding white metal fittings. make it more slender and you've got the sirupati. add a deep fuller to the siru and you've got the gelbu, my fav of the slender models. a second fuller gives you either a chainpuri or a chitlangi if you also add the bell shaped pommel. there are tons more but these are the main ones. the angle of the bend and the shape of the belly vary.
